Hi everyone. I have not been around much because I have been dealing with a very scarey medical condition.
Feb 1st I woke up with blurred vision in my right eye. Being a diabetic was case for even more concern. Blindness is a death sentence for a very visual artist so I have been on pins and needles. I have been seeing a Retinologist for the past four weeks. He belives I have Central Serous Retinopathy or Macular Degeneration. He felt I was too young (almost 42) to have MD but...we had to wait and watch and have weekly scans. Thsi is not diabetic related at all (phew...but still not good).
Last week my eye was significantly worse and I slipped into quite a deep depression. Some of you are aware of this as I mentioned it in an unrelated thread.
Central Serous Retinopathy is a condition where a blister of fluid collects under the retina distorting vision. This can reverse itself over a period or two to three months. T
Today I had a fourth scan of my retina. The plan was if it was worse then I would have a laser treatment (no gaurentees there), but, if it was the same then we would continue to wait and watch. The blister of fluid has gone down significantly!!! This is supossed to take two to three months to show any signs of improvment.
I can only say that thsi is a result of the prayers and good vibes from you and the people in my family......and my husband brought me some Holy water from our church which I have been putting this into my eye. I can hardly believe it. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to all who emailed me, PM's me, and just held good thoughts and prayers.
My vision is still distorted but I am on the rigth track to recovery.
I apologize for any and all typos...I can;t see very well with my eyes dialted from the exam.
BLESS YOU ALL!

Judi,
I'm soooo sorry ...didn't know you where having any problems. I do believe you are on your way to recovery, let's hope it is a speedy one. In the meantime, maybe you are suppose to be resting and taking better care of yourself. Everything happens for a reason, we just never know or find out later, what that reason is.
You are in my prayers .....
Hugs,
Wanda
OH Judi!!! I had no idea!!!!  How absolutely scary for you.
The condition I was told is stress related and usually is a male dominated condition.
I was diagnosed when I was 32. I only have one eye I can see from and that was the eye affected.
Major bummer time that.
I was in rehearsals for a shakespeare play and was unable to see my lines. I can still hear the director yelling "punctuation Wendy, punctuation" me replying "what punctuation?" well maybe you had to be there. Doesnt sound so funny in the retelling.
The specialist gave me drops and I went into therapy to learn stress control. It took about 3 months before I realised that I didnt need the magnifing sheet to read anymore.
I still wore makeup. I have no idea what I looked like but I was not going anywhere without my lippy.
I am sooo glad that all is looking rosey again for you. Its a hugely worrying condition.
All the best
