Dad has been rushed to the hospital again. Same symptoms he had with the last two aneurisms. I'm leaving now to make the 2 1/2 drive to the hospital in Maine. It's almost 8pm and I'm dealing with a repeat of this damn cold that won't go away and feel crappy myself but adrenalin (sp?) kicks in and there's no stopping me. Mom can barely walk due to a severe arthritis flare up in her knees. If Dad gets taken to Mass General, has surgery, we stay at a near by hospital...... I can't think about it. One step at a time I guess.

Pray, please???

Well Daphne, isnt this just what life throws at us, when we think we on the road of it being all 100% up comes something and down we all tumble .

May you and your family once again have the strength to cope with what life is dishing out to you and my thoughts are with all of you during this difficult time.

I hate getting that 'call' and it seems to happen all too often. Most of the time I don't go running now as he has so many ailments, none of the rest are life threatening but at the possibility of a ruptured aortic aneurism I do run. We've almost lost him twice, time was of the essence and my mother is not in the best of health either with diabetes and heart disease on top of her knees. SO off I went! Being an only child is a lot of work and responsibility! And people say only children are spoiled.... HA!

Anyway, the ER doctor has NO IDEA what happened last night. Scans show only a slight enlargement of the aneurism we know he has and do confess that it could have enlarged temporarily but by the time they had him stabilized and at the hospital and finally to have the scan done, it could have recovered to it's 'normal' size. SO...... he's stabile and home but we have to get him to his surgeon at Mass General ASAP... this week. If this aneurism gets any bigger he will indeed die but yet they don't want to do surgery until it becomes a matter of life and death because his body can't take the stress of surgery right now. Sort of a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' kind of situation. It sucks!

Your thoughts and prayers are what has gotten us through last year and continue to help today! I just can't imagine going through this alone. The love of God and friends can work miracles.
