I've just spent the most frustrating afternoon (all of it!!) trying to list a bear on ebay using their new listing form - which I have resisted up to now but now they aren't giving the choice to use the old one anymore - so all my previous choices are lost and I had to start all over again. As if that wasn't bad enough now I can NOT get the form to let me put in a reserve price! I click on the "change" to add the reserve and the box comes up to put in the reserve price and after I do that there is nothing to enter it - only thing to click in the whole box is the little "x" to close the box and if I do that it doesn't add the reserve to the listing and if I don't do that nothing happens - it is like there is some link missing from the box to add the reserve to my listing. I tried doing a prelist - thinking I could go back and edit the listing before it starts but is still won't let me do it!
Anyone have any ideas what I am doing wrong or does anyone know how I can contact ebay without having to wait for an email back? Seems I've heard people talking about online or live help - how do I find that???

Edie there is a link to live help on the top right hand side of the second page you open when you click on 'sell' from the home page...once you put in what you are going to sell (ie bear)....hopefully they'll be able to help you...good luck

Edie,
You might want to avoid the entire problem by signing up with Auctiva as a hosting site.  It's easy, it's FREE and it makes you listings cheaper as you don't have to pay for the pictures you use on Ebay as you are using another hosting site.
Just register with them and when your pictures ready,  you upload them to Auctiva, and then use their "auction form" to fill out, which is similar to Ebay's.    Once it's ready, you can launch it to Ebay or save it or schedule it.   After I had my first one done successfully, I saved an old listing so I can change the few things that need to be changed on each new listing as pictures and text etc.  Honestly, it's cheaper and you avoid all the ebay problems.  Check it out and if you have any problems, email me.  I could even give you a call, to talk you through a listing as I have a flat rate phone plan.
We just talked Deborah Burnham into using it - check it out if you  have a minute.  Here's the link:

Thanks so much, Sarah-Jane for pointing in the right direction for live help - they dot it sorted out for me - had to click on the tab key on my computer to get a "save" box to come up on the pop up screen for adding the reserve - never in a million years would have figured that out for mysel! I appreciated your quick response so much but with all going on never a got a chance to get back here and tell you!
And Brenda, thanks for that advice - I'll certainly take a look at it! But how can it be all free - don't they have to make some money for what they are doing????

I'm glad you were able to get it sorted Edie...there is nothing more frustrating than having 'ebay' prolems like this one!!!  I can't understand why it all has to be so complicated... bear_wacko

Hi Edie,
I don't know how they can make it free, but I've been registered for quite a while and I've never paid them anything.  My niece and I both used to use Vendio but they charged for it, so I dropped it.  Once I discovered Auctiva, I convinced my niece to switch as she was paying a fair bit to Vendio.  We both figure at some point they will either start charging or be bought out by another company who charges, but who knows.   I'll take it while it's free - it cuts my Ebay costs and I avoid the hastle of using Ebay's forms.

                                      hugs,

                                      Brenda

I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago......I was soooooooooooo frusterated!
I just listed a bear with a BIN and all my preferences were set at worldwide shipping. My auction came up that i only ship to the US, so my International buyer couldnt use the BIN. When I tried to change all my setting to accept her bid, they were all set correctly...ebay has a serious glitch right now.

I hope it all works out for you

Bear Hugs,

Kim
