Hi

I have an Australian Artist staying with me at the moment and she will be visiting England in August and we were just wondering what bear show may be on and where. She is tossing up as to weather to trade or visit.

Any suggestions or contact details for organisers would be great.

thanks

Hi Sandra, The only one that I know of so far in August is a small one. It is on August Sunday 24th, it is called the 'Hornchurch Bear Fair' and it is taking placeat the Palms Hotel, Hornchurch in Essex, it states in my book that it has up to 44 stands. The organisers are Totally Teddies and their contact number is 01277 821890 you would have to add the code for England to the front of the number. Now if she were to be coming to England in September well that's a whole new ball game, one word 'HUGGLETS' it's on September 14th at the Town Hall Horton Street Kensington, London. It's the biggest English bear fair and my favourite.
I hope this helps.

Oh, I'd go in September too, just for Hugglets AND I'd participate in the show.... can't go and NOT participate.... how cool to be able to say... "I'm traveling to London to participate in Hugglets!" Well, your bear friends would be impressed any way!

Sandra, Just an extra bit of info for your friend. If she is going to London for Hugglets to visit then it's absolutely great but if she wishes to exhibit she has to be invited, this is a show that you can't just book. There is a huge waiting list to exhibit at Hugglets and then you only get in if you are chosen.

Bummer.... I guess I never realized that. But then, we have shows like that here and I've called and ASKED for an invitation (after being told that's how you get asked.... silly, I know!) w/no problem as it's still juried so just because you are asked doesn't mean you get in. Does this make any sense?

Anyway....attending would still be fun and all the artists you'd get to meet..... wow!

(Ok, I know I'm not Sandra... I just barged into this thread....I'll shut up now!) bear_grin

Oh Sandra, it's not just "anyone" if it's the lovely lady I'm thinking of, Hugglets will be stoked (read: excited for the non Aussies) to have her.
"She" (not the cat's mother) should just give them a call or send an email with some pics of her amazing work and see how she goes, I think the British bear collectors would love to see her work in the fur.
