FIRST,
I, too, want to put my wish in that all of us out here are ok? THe cats and I are fine. Our new home is located on a gentle hill with no run-off water coming down on us. Although, my real cats are constantly soaked since they insist on going out to explore their new environs  bear_rolleyes I've heard this morning that in Seattle we've had 5 inches of rain and it's still raining. Apparently, this is the second largest rain storm they've ever had in Seattle and we may beat the old record if this doesn't stop! A great number of roads are flooded and they've called in the National Guard to help with the sewers and evacuations. I know in the East, 5 inches of rain can be just absorbed into the spongey soil but out West there is a different type of soil. Also our city infrastructure is just not able to handle so much water at once.
Karen
P.S. I think I'll get on the phone and see if I can help? I believe they're going to have to evacuate many more homes before this is over.
I still LOVE Seattle bear_thumb
Yesterday I got a taste of Seattle understatement; A reporter was reporting on the traffic situation. It went sort of like this "THere is a tie-up on route 1, they're working on clearing the water off. Wait....No- apparently the road is closed, it has washed away."

Oh Karen!  bear_laugh  bear_laugh Yes, the Pacific Northwest is more water logged than normal.  And to think, December is supposed to be one of the drier winter months!!  It really is a mess out there.  Chin up though.....it's supposed to clear off and be beautiful.....July 5th!!!  bear_laugh  bear_laugh

I'm glad to hear you're loving Seattle!  It really is a fabulous place to set down roots.  Perhaps we can get together my next trip up there!

Warmest bear hugs,

Glad to hear you've gotten moved and somewhat settled it! That would seem like quite the move! I don't know how people do a huge cross country move!!   I moved half an hour away from where I lived before and that was enough for me! heehee.

hugs!

 Hurrah!!!  I'm glad you've arrive safe and sound, although by all accounts from friends in Oregon, this storm has surpassed all the ones I've seen out there.  Glad to hear you're up on a hillside to avoid the flooding.  Stay warm and dry
