This is what I woke to this morning......snow covering the front door, nice white stuff that looks absolutely lovely. Did a little shovelling, then tossed the frisbee for Ti, until it got lost in the snow. Fun Time!

The, what to do once you're done outside? come inside, start the wood stove and have a nice cup of hot tea and a fresh homemade bagel......ahhh, life in the North Country!

Ya beat me to it . . . . I was just about to start a similar thread.   We have 5 foot drifts from last night's storm.  That is a 6 foot pool fence that is almost covered.   We have a big white dinosaur drift on our pool. 

I thought I would include a summer shot for contrast.  . . . . and when might that be?   It will take a long time for this snow to melt  :doh:   Even my dog is shaking her head and crying

Glad to hear you like the snow Ellen.  It is pretty , but I am ready for spring.  All of our snow is gone for now after that snow from Ontario can to us in the form of  LOTS of rain and a thunderstorm last night.

Thankfully, like Tammy, we got lots of RAIN yesterday and over night but we still have 5 feet of snow that has to melt.

Hi Daphne,   

Now we know why so many Ontario residents flock to Florida for March Break.  I just hope they left before Saturday.   My neighbors are flying to the Dominican today (or so they hope).     

There is a cute TV ad here that shows grown adults crying like toddlers . . . until they get their vacation in the sun.  It is a really good ad.  It is how most of us feel right now.

There is always someone who has more . . . . snow that is !  I drove my daughter to her friend's house today and was shocked at the state of this local street.  Note the height of the snow beneath the street light.  It must be over 10 feet high !  The tiny path to the front door of our friend's house was a wall of snow.  Pretty hard to shovel when you can't reach the top of the pile.   :doh:

This storm that we had over the weekend started out as rain and sleet, then changed to freezing rain and ice, then to snow. Shoveling the stuff was interesting, you had the top layer of snow which moved easily, then you broke into the ice, but as you picked it up with the shovel, it fell off the sides like sand, and it was heavy....then driving in it was like driving in sand......We actually had thunder and lightning during a snow storm! that is very unusual, but interesting. David used the snow blower and got the driveway cleared, then yesterday the plow knocked a huge pile of snow on his 1/2 of the driveway! I could get out but it took him a while to get this pile cleared from the end of the drive. The weather forecast says it is going to get warmer this week.....maybe I will take Ti out and play more in the snow, i might even be able to find his Frisbee!
