Garth and I are doing some house extensions/renovation and I questioned one of the tradesman quoting for work on quality........when his quote for the work came in he added this at the bottom for me. I think he may get the work despite his higher price!!  bear_thumb

Quality
It is like buying oats. If you wish to buy first grade oats, than you must pay a fair price. However if you are satisfied with oats that have been through the horse that is another matter.

It's another way of describing poor work and be polite I suppose!!! bear_whistle  bear_whistle

  Too funny! I wonder how many others have hired him over others because of that marvelous marketing tactic!
Too funny! I love it! Very clever. Great way to make a person laugh after suffering a heart attack over the quoted price.

Very good, and thanks for sharing this.....I hope you get the quality you will be paying for-if he took the time to write out the comment then I think he will be thinking about his particular brand of quality- bear_original

   I agree...so true.

They could also use 'cow' along/instead of "horse".    And oats from that route are not pretty. bear_wacko  bear_laugh

bear_laugh   Judi, do you think it would make the point all the more telling?

So what will it be?  Apples or pie?  How about apple pie? bear_laugh

bear_laugh   I think that's one apple pie I'll pass on  bear_tongue  !!!

When I visited the UK my friends and I went for lunch, and there on the menu was 'cow pie'!!!      I just had to give it a try and my friends couldn't imagine what I was carrying on about.  Actually it was quite delicious, a sort of beef stew with a puff pastry on top.  I couldn't wait to tell my Mom I'd eaten a 'cow pie'  bear_tongue

Deb, that is so funny!  If I saw "cow Pie" on the menu I would have to order it.  What you had sounds good.

We have a favorite restaurant here called Texas Road House.   One of the items on the menu is called, "Road Kill".  It's a mix of steak chunks, onions, mushrooms, melted Jack cheese, and sauce. bear_laugh

Anyone hungry? bear_laugh
