I am trying to calibrate my monitor so that everything isn't so WIDE. It drives me crazy when I try to print things and they are all out of whack.
Is there a way to enter a specific resolution if I can't find the one I need in the control panel settings for the 22inch monitor I am borrowing ? The closest setting is 1600 X 1200 and I want to set it at 1680 X 1050. I've tried some of the other resolutions and it helps make things less wide, but then the fonts are all blurry. I changed the DPI to 120 from 96 and it still seems fuzzy.
That's all I know how to do so any advice is appreciated.
Tammy right click right on your desktop and you will see a "properties tab at the bottom of the pop up..click that and the click the settings tab in the "display propertiesw window that will appear..that should give ytou access to the monitor settings,,( screen resolution slider..left of the window..then say Ok ) as far as printing..hmmm that may need you to "print preview " to see what youre getting bwfore you print..but thats a printer setting i believe..hope that helps..deb
Thanks Deb. That is where I went , but the resolution I want isn't on the slider. I need to set the Native Resolution at a certain number designated for the monitor size. The slider doesn't quite have the right one so I hoped to be able to enter my own numbers. I tried all the ones listed and that messes up the fonts.
As for printing. I think that will get resolved if I get the screen to show things correctly. Right now everything( ie bear pics are too wide, but print the proper size. It makes using photoshop a challenge. I tend to want to adjust the width onscreen that mess it up when it prints out.
We are not understanding something..are you trying to fit the image to the monitor? if its a smaller file it will distort the picture..Maybe im not Knowlegible enough t o help you,,sorry. deb
