P.S. Helena,  if you have any doubts about the competency at this clinic would you be able to go to another for a second opinion?

Louise, everything you say is SO true. Thankyou...and I'm sorry you've been through this too. I've had the whole mammo/ultrasound/needle biopsy procedure before but it was all carried out on the same day that time, and the result was given to me that afternoon. This time I'm having to wait between appointments...which only adds to the anxiety. I actually said to my husband today that if anything needs doing (if they find something and I need treatment of any kind) then I'll ask to be transferred. I'm not happy with the record-keeping at the place I'm currently going to, let alone the speed they are dealing with it (though the care is no doubt good, and the nurse I saw last time was an angel).

Helena my mum was recalled and given a massive information folder and saw specialist nurses who are trained to deal with patients fears and issues and this was before they were even sure what was wrong. Would they let you go the North Staffs? All the ladies I know who have been there for breast treatments said how impressed they were. Good luck.

Dear Helena,

So sorry to hear about the worrying times that you are having and we are all here for you
to give you a big hug and support.
I had rotated cuff injury in my shoulder and it was taking a long time to come right so my
Doctor said it would be a good thing to have a mammagramme as I had turned 40.
The mammograme showed up some calcifications and so I had to go and have a biospy.
Everything was clear but was so frighting for the family.
The waiting time was terrible so I know exactly what you are going through.
My kindest thoughts, love and prayers are with you Helena.
Stay positive and hope that there will be good results.

Bear hugs
Carolyn

Helena...I had a similar incident when I was 52. Was recalled for more tests and then a rush appt made with a surgeon. I was terrified and afraid to tell my Mom cause my mother's Mom had died at age 52 from breast cancer and my Mom was only 14 at the time. Fortunately the surgeon decided it wasn't anything to worry about but I still go every 2 years for mammos. The queasy feeling is terrible and the relief afterwards is also anticlimatic.    Best wishes for a good outcome.

I feel helpless as I have nothing magical to say and even if I did, it wouldn't really DO anything for you.  I hope it's enough that I'm keeping you in my thoughts and wishing for the very best, QUICKEST POSSIBLE, outcome.

Take good care, hun,

Oh my!  How did I miss this thread?  There is nothing I can say to ease your mind.  I can only offer prayers and, judging by the rest of the post......girl, you have an army of TT'ers doing the same!  Seek comfort in that knowledge.  We are here for you.

Warmest hugs and healing prayers,

Thanks again to everyone, it means a lot :). I do feel slightly embarrassed sharing this in such a public forum but hopefully my experience and those of others will help someone out there? I have calmed down a lot now. So your positive thoughts seem to be working! I also spoke to the nurse at the hospital and she explained where the 'abnormality' is and I'm at a loss to know what to think, because there is definitely no lump there. So I'm hoping that means there's either nothing there (perhaps a fuzzy mammo) or it's teeny weeny/very early stages. Will let you know what happens.

You are all such kind-hearted people - I wish I could give this hug in person!

angelbabe3.jpgHelena dear heart,

I came in to post a quite note on Peter bunny, but could not leave without posting here first.
With all the love and prayers here - I can only add one more.
My heart feels for you and the fear you feel. As sweet Louise said, "all will be fine, you just wait and see! I feel it in my heart."
It will be ok hon. And goodness girl don't feel embarrassed. We are all friends here and who can we share with if not with our friends. As all the girls have said - we all care. Don't worry dear heart. We all have lives and sometimes we just need to share it - the good and the sad.

Big hugs and more big hugs
