Posts: 114Hello friends, I have some fox fur that I plan to use for a teddy bear. What would be the recommended minimum size I should make. I usually only make tiny teddies, so I'm a bit daunted by the prospect of making a larger bear. I have Nancy Tillberg's book, "Teddy Bears With a Past" and she recommends 22 inches (56cm) or more. Would I be able to make one that's a bit smaller, say 17 inches?

Past Time BearsJanet, are you using a pattern to make your bear? If so, just reduce the size of the pattern in your printer so that the finished bear is smaller.
Posts: 114Hi Sue Anne, thanks for your reply. I'm wondering if it would work to make a smaller bear with the fox fur as it's a long dense fur. I guess the only way to tell is to try it out. I've made a few prototype heads from calico and have a pattern that I think will work.
