Where is everyone???? It's been so quiet here today! At least no one is wondering where my show report is! Phew! I just went through over 200 photos..... my eyes are buggy and I need chocolate!!!! And I still have yet to compose my 'promoter's review'!!! To be honest I'm having a hard time with that because I feel good about the show but don't want to sound like I'm full of myself!!!
Anyway...... here is a picture......
This is Ellen MacMaster (pandamac), me, and Debra Travers (heartsez) at the show.
At least one of us was in the TT spirit. I slept in my TT t-shirt the night before the show for good luck..... it brought be plenty (though very little sleep!)
Our Sandi Rexford was also there visiting but we didn't get her in the picture.... so she'll have to come again next year... hopefully as a vendor!!
It was fun going through the photos tonight... I needed a bit of time off before I looked at them and relived the day! I will work on getting a page up on my site tomorrow of show photos. Too many to show here!
Hugs,
Daphne
Well...if the truth be known I HAVE been wondering and very eager to here but figured you needed your rest and didn't want to nag.
But now you've had an entire day to recoup...  so get on it girl and be completely FULL of yourself...you deserve it.
Great photo too...you three look like you were having a WONDERFUL time.
Hugs
Daphne, get off yer duff and post the pictures and show report already. We're waiting to hear from YOU. That's why it's so quiet here. It's all your fault and doing.
<giggling>
Daphne.
Thanks for sharing the picture...and sounds like the show was a huge success!!! How wonderful...you have every reason to brag!!!! You go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hugs &
You asked for it!!!
I need pushing by the way.... I'm the greatest procrastinator on earth... guaranteed! I beat everyone's husbands!!!
I asked one of the participating artists to write a review of the show for TB&F.... I got it tonight...... written by Anna Vey of Underground Bear Factory. Can't give you the whole thing... you have to wait for the NEXT issue... but here's a tid-bit:
"The artists themselves look forward to keeping the show going. Karen Searl of Karen’s Treasures stated “Even if I don’t sell one bear, I’m still going to do the show next year.” Vicki Stephan of Raspbearies echoed the same sentiment, feeling that that whole experience was so “professional”, she is also looking forward to the next show. Diana Lee Palomba of Timeless Expressions, will definitely be returning, she stated “This was my best show all year!”
As the show ended and we packed up, the overall sense was that we had been a part of a new era of bear shows."
Glad to hear your show went so well Daphne...I am looking forward to seeing the pictures and reading the show report. It was a well deserved success, you worked so hard to make sure of it and you should be proud of yourself and not worry about blowing your own trumpet (need a trumpet blowing smily here!!!) We can"t wait to hear.
Hi Daphine!
tell....tell...tell!
you know that telling will motivate me to start saving my airfare for next year!!
I HAVE been wondering and very eager to here but figured you needed your rest and didn't want to nag.
Unlike Shantell, I confess I did want to nag
Daphne, you are now SuperShowLady--'a new era of bear shows' is very high praise indeed.
So post now, sleep later--pleeeeeeeeze?
We can handle 200 photos. :photo: :photo: :photo: :photo: :photo: :photo: :photo: :photo: :photo:
Daphne - I loved the show. I sang your praises in a separate post. I agree with Vicki Stephan - very professional. I definitely want to be there next year. I did my part this year by collecting. Who were the winners on the contest? I want to see the pictures too.
Sandi
Goodonya Daphne, glad your show was successful, now show us the photos pretty please.
my two cents worth,,i thought daphne did a spectacular job with the show! terrific attention to detail. the vendors were all very happy..there was a beautiful selection of bears,,the worlds best coffee and donuts for us in the morning,,lovely room with lots of light and space! my sales unfortunately were zilch..and i cannot speak for others but i would give the show another go! maybe at a different time of year? all in all ii had a lovely day ..met some great people,,very positive response from the collectors! daphne bravo! and hugs deb
Glad to hear that the show went well and that you did a wonderful job of organizing it Daphne.
We look forward to seeing and hearing more about the show. Thanks Daphne.
Hugs
Carolyn
I echo Deb's post. It was a wonderful show, so much fun meeting and talking with other Teddy Bear Nuts! My Hubby even had a good time.
What a great help he was talking with people and helping children stuff their own critters while I was busy writng up a sales ticket or sewing the bear back, etc. AND......we had a wonderful vacation while we were there!
I am looking forward to next year's show......with a longer vacation time, with the motorcycle, bears, dog, hubby all in a new trailer so we can fit everything!
Daphne did a fantastic job, and I will be at next year's show, or any other show she decide to organize! (can't wait to see your pics. Daphne......I had my camera, but did not take 1 picture!)
 pandamac
Deb, Ellen & Sandi..... First... glad you are all home safe and sound.
Deb.... It broke my heart to read you didn't sell a single bear. The surveys I gave the vendors so far indicate anything from mediocre to excellent sales.
I've done shows where I've sold nothing and at first I'd sit there and think "OK, what could the promoter have done about this?" (I love to blame someone else!! ) Then I'd hear I wasn't the only one with poor sales so I'd feel a little better. Then I'd think about what I could have done to sell my own bears. Was I not friendly enough with the customers? Did my display not show them off properly or wasn't eye catching enough? Perhaps it's the bears themselves. Oh dear! What can I change about my bears? I'd get myself in a tizzy by this point! But all are things to consider. And also, most of the artists that did well are very well known on the show circuit. So I'm glad to hear you'll do the show again! Keep doing it! You'll build a following if you can hang in there!!!
OK, I need to spend my time writing my review and webpage.....
Ta Ta!
...hang the webpage...get your bloomers back here and give us :photo: :photo: :photo: woman!!! I've sat here very patiently (well for me anyways ) trying not to nag you over the show.
So I wanna know!!! and seee!!!
It sounds like so far this has been a killer show! With such rave reviews, it does indeed sound like you've launched one heck of a first show, and will be a show promoter extrodinaire in no time.
Deb, don't be disappointed by the no sales (easier said than done, I know from past experience  ) But sometimes you can analyze yourself sick and not get anywhere. There's always another show, and the same bears can easily sell at a different time. Sometimes there's no rhyme or reason for people parting with their $$$
debbie thank you for the encouragement..daphne believe me i have been over that and over it in my head and with objective people..not a real clue except i just dont have whatever people at the maine shows are looking for. i dont sell ALOT of bears but i sell what i make..usually here in Vt and PA..a few in Mass. at amherst and that took me awhile... i seem to sell to people who appear out of the blue...WANT that bear..buy and disappear ! i can talk and smile and fuss with the display and the bears until im depressed..it doesnt change..on the other hand i get many people who love the bears.. admire them..say nice things about them and me..oh well im doing it for me anyway! some advice has helped..raise the bears UP on the table..for instance..im glad there were great sales and it wouldnt have occurred to me to blame the promoter? i will be brave and if anyone has seen me at the shows or seen my bears and would like to email me privately with any thoughts id be interested.
ps the demos were terrific or did i already say that? deb
Don't worry, Deb--next year you'll be an Established Artist.
You might be right about the timing--fall is nicer than late summer in New England, and there are a lot more tourists.
Get out of bed and get those piccies up, Daphne--we're dying out here . . . .
It's so great to hear all the glowing reports on your show Daphne! I knew it would be great. Congratulations!!
I need pushing by the way....
Okay, PUSH, PUSH... Can't wait to see pictures!
yay, so glad it went well!!!! Look at your smiling shining faces in that photo!! Big hugs Deb...there is always next year
