Oh My Gosh!  I'm offline (for the most part) for a couple of weeks and when I come back I'm so glad I saw this post!!  I also received a message from this lady.

NOw... as for putting your phone number in your ads.  I think it's a great idea because some people do NOT have computers!  I've gotten several paid orders for bears because my # was in my ad.  BUT.... I also did not want my personal number in there.... so I got a toll free number connected to a voice mail for $5 per month.  Then it's 7 cents per minute for calls, messages, etc.

My bill is not very high as I really don't get THAT many calls.  But the first order more than paid for a year's worth of "phone bill".  Nice thing also is you can take this number with you wherever you go.  (we moved in Feb and there was no problem)    Here's the link:  http://www.voicenation.com/

I really like it because I have it on all my biz cards, my ads etc.  And I never have to worry about answering the phone correctly bear_original

Oh I almost forgot!  Yes, in her message she mentioned Sorry, she could not leave her phone number.  But with voicenation - it has built in caller ID so I have it anyways...

Hmmmm... interesting idea. But it doesn't actually ring in your home, right? Do you have to call in for messages? Or is it a separate line or just have a different ring??? How's it work, Laura??? Inquiring minds want to know how you know when you have a call!!! I always about how I answer the phone!!

Oh it is so cool!  The default is set to ring directly into your voicemail.  Then, you can set it to notify you of messages by either emailing you, phoning you or both.  (I use both)  Then you call your own number, press 9, enter your password and it walks you thru it.

OR..... you can also set it up to ring your phone!  I just did that... not sure if I'll change it back later.  I have mine set up to ring my cell phone if the caller presses "0".  It puts the caller on hold (with music) then calls your phone.  I have mine set up so the caller ID shows my own toll free number so I know it's a business call.  If you don't answer the call - it will roll back to your voicemail box and they can leave a message.  THere are various ways you can set it up... this is how I did mine.

This lady called me when I was out and about.  When my cell rang it showed my own toll free number so I knew it was a biz call.   I didn't want to answer a business call without being at home so I let it roll back to VM.

I wasn't sure at first how to set it up to forward the calls to my phone.  I emailed Voicenation, they got back to me in a few hours and walked me thru step by step.

I should mention... you do get charged an extra 3 cents per minute for the call forwarding.  So I dont have friends call me via my toll free number ~ I just give them my cell # or home number directly.

Ho hum . . . I just got through talking with Margaret.  This is the third time she's called within 10 days.  The first two times, we were in Alaska and she left messages.  Well, I explained AGAIN that I have a digital camera and all my photos are stored on the computer.  She said, "Can't you just send me photos from your computer?"  I told her not unless she has a computer and, of course, she doesn't.  Then I suggested what one of you had said . . . to go to the library and use their computer to look at all these bears.  I also told her that the librarian would show her how to access the web sites she wanted if she had the web addresses - yada, yada, yada.  Ms. Daniel hung up on me.  Too much info, I guess, but maybe she won't call back!

Good grief, Sue Ann. I don't think there ever was any butter on her biscuit!!!!

I was thinking of calling her and asking her to send me pictures of her artist bear collection...... group photos and individual photos with the bear's name, artist and date written on the back of each one.... 5x7's just to be difficult, she must be in every photo and they must be mailed in a purple envelope, address written in silver metalic marker in all capitals.

I'm awful, I know!!!
