We hung around in Anchorage today (Saturday). Got a late start, so we had different adventures. The city has a market every weekend which features artwork by Alaskans - especially the natives. All of it was wonderful . . . paintings, photography, pottery, jewelry, etc., so of course I had to buy something! This is a 6" x 6" handpainted tile done by a native artisan which features birch leaves.
Next, I bought these cute scrunchies for my bears . . . wish I could've gotten them all! I also bought some jewelry and cute little winter booties to run around the house in.
Our next place to go today was our hosts' grandson's football game. This is Spencer Madden - # 78.
The Navy's famous Blue Angels were participating in an air show in Anchorage at the same time we were at the ballgame, so I shot a couple of pics when they came over the stadium.
After the game, we went to Spencer's house for dinner - yum - smoked salmon. This next pic is of our hosts, Sue and Hoyt Cole. Sue is Paul's (my hubby) sister. The Cole's daughter is Spencer's mom.
Tomorrow is the Musk Ox Farm!!!! I'll be back!
The scrunchies is so cute !!! and the painting is lovely~♪
