When listing you bears on ebay or any other selling website how many days works best?
I always list for 5 days but it seems to take forever when I'm anxious for a bid!!
Jane
I've done seven or five. I think seven is a good length because a lot of people will be able to see your auction.
I tend to watch the 3 day auctions. A LOT of bears can come along in a week's time, and there is already a huge number of bears on e-Bay. I'm one of those people that takes forever to make a decision on a bear, but know the minute I see it if it's one I must have or not. Once I've decided, I don't want to wait for seven days for the auction to end, and then another week or so for it to arrive in the mail. Hugs, Luann
When I list at Ebay I do seven or five days. I think the longer you list , the more people will be able to see your auction.
I have tried them all, but use the 3 now, because in most cases it isn't until the last 2 days or even 1 before bids are made...I take it as a personal ego shot when one of my bears sits on eBay with no action. Sure with the longer auctions there is more exposure but when a bear is sitting back on page 9 or 10 of the listings, not many people take the time to search that far back, and the chances of a bear catching a collectors eye before page 10 are greater....I find that the only people who even know I have a bear up when it is listed longer than three days are people on my mailing list, who have already been given the option to buy the bear before it even goes on eBay, so really defeats the purpose in my eyes....but again this is just my opinion.

Interesting topic Jane.
I've always listed for 7 days and would swear by it, but you gals have got me thinking.
You do get the most 'watchers' at the begining of the auction and at the end. Not much happens at all in between. Maybe I'll have to re-think that.
The only other issue is, often I don't get a good chance to browse ebay more than once or twice a week, so I could very easily miss a 3 day auction all together.
I am suspicious of short auctions (1-3 days), because I have read that fraud auctions are short. It takes ebay a few days to discover when an id as been stolen and the thieves do short auctions to be in the clear, before they are discovered.
I often bid at the end of an auction, because I look for similar items and decide late on which to bid, unless I really want something, then I bid earlier. I also think that more people will see an auction if it is longer and would do 7 days if I did sell on ebay (I do that on b4b).
Which she is of course!

I like 3 days the best, I seem to get the same number of lookers in 3 days as in 5 or 7 but my listings don't do as well if they come off on the weekend, so I will list in 5 or 7 so that they will come off at a better time.
