Hi All,
I'm trying out wire armatures and read a bunch of past posts on it. I went to Home Depot and found what I needed....had 2 workers there insist on trying to help me (I knew the explanation would make them leave me alone )..."uh huh" as they walked away confused. I wasn't confused..but they look funny after I tried to quickly explain the armature set up..hey, they asked!!
Now, I use screws and lock nuts normally and I glue the screw first. Has anyone used armatures with the wire and ring terminals with this glue process ?? How have you had to change things??
I'm guessing that the ring terminal would get glued first, then the screw to that...as long as it holds for the tightening I guess it would work....anyone have a better thought?? I use a glue called "perfect glue, liquid nails" (I glue the joints because I don't like the visible seams, I'm an inside the limb slicer.)
Thanks for any help or ideas!!

Chrissi...when I do wired arms using the terminal rings I use a cotter pin joint instead
And I use a bolt and locknut. The ring terminal just slip on next to the bolt head, before the disk.
I do the same as Shelli, bolt and lock nut... easy to do.
Chrissi,
I've never glued the ring terminals, but if your glue holds the bolt to the disk, it ought to hold the ring to the disk and bolt.
It's a great idea!!
Maybe you could try one without the bear, and see if the assembly stands up to nut-tightening.
OOOOOR you could try armature like loc-line.
I do like Shelli and Patsy ... Locknut & Bolt ... don't use glue.
Hugs,
