I was SO excited last Tuesday evening when I managed to win the most beautiful bear on eBay. A collector was selling some of their bears and I was so very, very lucky to have won this sensational bear (at a really silly price too....I think Christmas is to blame for that!). The parcel only arrived half an hour ago but I just HAD to come and show you all....I opened the box (which was already half open ...damn postal workers! ) and as I pulled him out he growled at me!! The ad didn't say anything about a growler - I was really surprised...James and Will keep giggling whenever I make him growl!
You'll all be in no doubt who made this little beauty!! James (who's nearly 5) is pictured with 'Dilly-Dally' to give you an idea of the sheer SIZE of him!
He certainly is gorgeous.
Stunning bear - no prizes for guessing who made hiim - but my guess is Paula from ALL Bear?!?! (which I think is the best name around, because they are just that!)
I am jealous! I so want an All Bear!

so when you feel like sending him to me just feel free
Bah Humbug, I was watching the auction and missed it because of a phone call. I'd have given you a run for your money Gemma.
Enjoy him, he is absolutely beautiful.
Hugs Jane.
Awwwhhhh, what a glorious bear and your little one's certainly found him a best buddy, I'd say Good luck getting your bear back
I'm guessing he's an All Bear as well....
Gemma my daughter thinks James is areal cutie pie!
Hugs Jane.
Congratulations Gemma! What a lovely bear...and a handsome boy!

He does look so cuddly
sometimes it's just fate? I was poking around in my local bear and collectibles store and I found a gund that was fully articulated, dressed in a sharp looking vest and suspendered pants, and it held a baby bear. It was a limited edition with the leathery seude paw pads signed....the fur is like some man made mohair that looks great.
now get this, for so reason it did not sell and the woman marked it down to $12 (yes twelve dollars) I got it for a gift, but couldn't part with it after I got it home. I ended up giving the baby bear to a friend and the big one is on my futon now.
sometimes a bear union is just ment to be huh?
Thank you everyone! Yes, it IS an All Bear and I absolutely LOVE him!
WOW, how lucky you are, Gemma . . . a gorgeous Paula bear!!!
Gorgeous bear Gemma - oh so huggable.
James is such a sweet little boy and looks very happy with the new addition to the family.
Hugs

I love Paula's bears - they are definately All Bear.
Oh yes, they certainly ARE!! He's so chubby and I couldn't even tell you how much he weighs!! I'm still sitting here looking at him with a big grin on my face thinking 'I own an All Bear'!!
My goodness, what a surprise! How lovely to see 'Dilly Dally' snugged up with your son Gemma ... I'm so pleased you found him! I am the world's worst at record keeping, but in answer to your question, my guess is that I made this bear around '98/99. His cardigan is the original too!
Thank you so much for adopting him Gemma!
Thanks everyone!
Paula thanks for letting me know when he was made - I asked the seller when he was made and their reply was 'I'm not entirely sure but if I remember correctly he was made in 2002'!! Just shows how much THEY knew!! lol........not that it matters - I absolutely LOVE him! James is still smitten with him - he knows not to touch mummy's bears unless I'm in the room and he asks...at the moment it's about 3 times a day he says 'mummy, can I make Dilly-Dally growl?' with a big grin on his face!
It wouldn't have been 2002 Gemma ... Dilly Dally was one of the first bears I made in my 'Snug Teds' range, but I think I made him before I had my website and that was set up in August 2000. I'm almost certain he would have been made no later than 1999. I didn't make many of the bears wearing cardigans because they were too time consuming to knit, so after Dilly Dally I switched to knitted sweaters instead. By 2002 I was concentrating more on my 'Grizzly Ted' bears ... which were a completely different shape and 'in the bare'. Also, I won my BBAA in 1998 with 'Himself' and he was one of the first bears I designed using the little suede pads on the feet, so that would put Dilly Dally between 1998 and 2000 at the latest. I think he would have originally retailed at around £195/£215 ish. The edition sold out quickly as I recall ... the Snug Teds were a popular bunch!
Note to self: date the hang tags in future Paula!
It's lovely to hear your son likes the growler! I love growling bears and always give my big bears growlers.
Gemma , you lucky thing. I too LOVE Paula's bears. They are so big and huggable looking .
Thanks for the extra info Paula! Did you knit his cardi yourself? It's very well made.
Thank you Tammy - they certainly ARE big and huggable! He has the sweetest face and perfectly stitched nose and I can't believe how heavy he is!!
