At 2am this morning I had the insane idea that I need an instant collection of ATC's. For those of you who are not aware I took over as Editor of Australian Bear Creations a few months ago and am trying to add a few new things.

One of the (stupid??) things I volunteered myself for is to try and resurrect a Bear COmpetition at the Sydney Stitches and Craft show. The doll comp as suvived but the bear comp died due to a lack of someone to organise it. I decided that I would make it more of a gallery show than a compeition, though and I will be setting it up with cards stating who the artist is etc and someone will be there at all times to show the bears to any collector who is interested and if the artists provides them also business cards. This is unusual in Australia competitions.

However this is a bit off track at 2am this morning I decided that as the show is a general craft show with scapbooking and beading and art supplies in general etc it would be great to have a display of ATC's and a flyer explaining all about them and where they can be viewed and bought etc.

One problem ........I don't have ONE ATC.........

So please TT's can those of you who are generous and great please "trade" a card with me.

I promise I will make a card a send it back......it may just be a little while as due to taking over the mag my life is a bit hectic....but if you inlcude a self addressed envelope I will make a card,add some stamps and post it back, hopefully by next christmas!!

It just would be great to make the Australian bear collectors and crafty people more aware of ATC's etc and as I will be doing more shows this year as Editor, I'd love to travel with a collection and raise interest in Australia.

The more I can turn into collectors the better....

The show is on in the first week of February so I need to have a "collection" by then..........can anyone help me.

Fantastric Christine - don't forget to add in something with your contact deatils....people will need to kown who has made these cards. Give me all the info you can if you sell on ebay or other places like TT. I'll be pushing as much as I can to get the collectors interested in buying them.

I may have confused a few people by indicating I will sell the ones I get .......that's not what I meant.  I want to try and display the ones I collect but dispay them with your details so that if I can convince collectors that they are a great thing to collect they can take your details and contact you direct aout ACEO's or look for you on ebay or TT or wherever you trade.

Thus my request to send me as much info about where they can buy from you as possible.

Also any suggestions as to how best to display these.....I;m thinking pages from a photo album.....the caud undercover and details written or a business card beside!

But I'm open to better and nicer display suggestions.

I'm just basically looking to promote ACEO's through my "personal" collection as a legitimate item to add to and intergrate into a bear collection or if they are not bear collectors as something they could start collecting.....thus growing all our slaes if we make them.

I think (tell me if my ego is getting to big here) that I can be in a position at this show to promote something and hopefully start people thinking in a new direction.

Sorry if I confused you into thikning I'll be selling the cards you send me.........no they will be my personal colelction which will be used many times (I hope) to promote ATC's and ACEO's.

Sandra, I have sent 3 to you today. On the back of each is the edition (1 of 1) the name of the bear featured, the title of the card, the date it was made and my signature. Along with that is my full contact info. No need to send me 3 in return. One would be great! I display mine at a show in an album with pages that each hold 9 cards in clear plastic sleeves. I got an album that I could decorate myself. Collectors love coming by to look at them. I have 3 sections in the album. Some pages with cards available for purchase. Some pages with cards that will go with each bear as it is sold. And some pages with my collection. I am going out of town tomorrow to visit my daughter and grandkids, but will be back by the 1st and will take a few pictures of the album if you would like.
