I  just heard on the news that there was a bad storm of tornadoes and thunder storms in Florida on Christmas Day, causing considerable damage to homes.  Is everyone ok that lives there?  I know that Chrissie lives in Florida, so I am hoping she and her family are ok.  I've sent her an email to check.

The storms were pretty bad and only hit certain areas. We had a tornado touch down two miles from the house and luckily it didn't do a lot of damage. I know there was one tornado on the coast of Central Florida, in Daytona Beach, which did a lot of damage to the police department, Emery Riddle Aviation School and the airport.

Definitely was a rainy day.

I was also thinking of Chrissie and her Teddy Bear Shop, and if there are any other TTers there.
I hope that everyone is doing fine and have escaped the bad storm.

Gizette, thank goodness you are o.k. Gosh,  two miles from your house is scary stuff. My parents  lives in St. Petersburg, Florida. A tornado hit the the county above him. He said they had wicked weather though but no real damage.

I just heard from Chrissie and she's fine as well as the teddy shop and her family, they didn't have any storms in the part of florida where they are so that's a relief - I'm glad you were ok too Gizette.

Thanks everyone for the concern. I'm glad that someone has spoken to Chrissie and she is okay, I wasn't sure where in the state she is located.

Michelle, I'm about 70 miles north of St. Petersburg, so it may have been the same group of tornadoes that hit around me.

I'm glad you're ok from the storms.  A tornado only 2 miles from your house is scary.  I live in southeast Florida in Lighthouse Point, which is between Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton.  I see that you live in Mount Dora.  I still have not been there.  I would like to go the big antique fair that's a couple times a year.  Everyone says Mount Dora is nice.

I'm glad you didn't experience any of these storms. I'm very familiar with the area you live in as I grew up in Miami. Mount Dora is beautiful and the big antique fair happens about 1 mile from my house. If you ever decide to come up give me a shout.
