I decided a few months ago that my goal for 2007 would be to "go into the business".  I haven't sold my bears in the past but have decided to take the plunge and I'm quite excited about it.   I'm right on schedule.

I've changed my business name to Swan Valley Bears and have a freewebs website up and going www.freewebs.com/swanvalleybears .  Check it out if you have a minute and let me know if it's OK.  Do the pictures take too long to download?  I'm working on a www.swanvalleybears website as well, but it's not up yet.  I hope to have my son-in-law the IT guy help me with it during my visit this month to their home in Nashville.  It's not as easy as freewebs.

Swan Valley, Montana has the largest population of grizzly bears in the lower 48 states.  The bears and other wildlife are studied and protected there.  When I read about this, I thought, hmm . . . I like that name and it's all about the bears.

I'll change my avatar as soon as I have my new logo that Penny is working on for me.  In the meantime, it will still be the BaroneBear avatar.  I'm pretty excited to get my logo too.  I can't wait to see what Penny comes up with.

My first show will be the Nevada City International Teddy Bear Convention in April.  I'm sure I'll be asking tons of questions to get ready for it.

Here's Finn.  He's the first bear I have finished under the new name.

Patty, congratulations on your new business venture. Sounds like you are very organized which will serve you well! I just checked out your website (which looks great too) and I wanted to mention how much I love your felted snowman. He's got a wonderful face!

 How exciting!!!    I'm currently pondering a name change for my biz too.  I love the reasoning for your new name.  I'm sure it would make a great blip on your new webpage, adding something personal as well.

...edited to say, all of your photos loaded lightning fast for me.  I've got DSL, if that helps.

Thank you Tami and Debbie.  Oh, I forgot to put that on my website.  I meant to, I'll go fix that right now.  Debbie, that's a tough decision to make.  Hmmm . . . I decided it was ok to change my name because I haven't sold my bears before.  It would have been a tough decision if I had been in business for a while.

Tami, thanks for the compliment on my snowman  . . . and my website.

Patty.... how exciting! I envy your organization!!!

Your Freewebs site looks great and I agree that snowman is wonderful!

Funny you choose that name as I started another post just today about the famous Grizzly bear Bart and the preservation project his human parents have started, Vital Ground after watching a documentary on it all last night. I've been doing some research on Grizzlies in the US today.

I wish you well in your bear business endeavors!

*huge screeches of EXCITEMENT!* Patty!!!  Did you know I live in the Swan?  Well, the extension of the valley---I was reading your post and got all excited 'cause I thought you were just down the Swan, I was all ready to call you up for a bear making party...

---and Swan Valley is beautiful, the Bob Marshal Wilderness too---I saw my very first grizzly bear there when we were going on a family drive...grizzlies are so majestic and HUGE when you see 'em, you really realize that we're the 'other red meat' to 'em..*LOL*

If you ever plan a trip to your new business namesake, there's a free guest room at my house!

Am off to look at your website!!  Still have a big grin on my face over your name---so awesome!!

Thank you everyone, so much ! ! !   I wouldn't be doing this if it weren't for all the encouragement and support from everyone here on TT.

Amelia,  how lucky you are to live in such a beautiful part of the country.  I envy you.  We will make a trip up that way, maybe next year.     Thanks for the invite.   I'll be sure to look you up when we do.  Shoot, a bear making party would be a blast.
