I've never used a "high quality" faux fur before.  I just ordered the prefurs sample swatches and plan to use a Christmas gift card to finally try my hand at the good stuff.

Before placing an order (outside of the swatches) I'd like your pointers, feedback, findings, and opinions on the furs.  What have you loved about them and what have you found to be not so pleasant (if anything).  Cutting, sewing, trimming, etc.  Anything that you wish you knew prior to buying/using.  Is there a particular style or color you love..or one you'd steer clear of.

Just looking for your opinions! bear_flower

Chrissi, personally I think quality plush's are great. They are by no means as easy to work with as mohair but the effects can be superb. There is almost always a slight stretch to the backing (but the good quality stuff has very little) and they are very difficult to sew because of the 'bulk' of the pile. Always make sure you trim a seam allowance or you simply won't get a nice finish to the stitched seams (and you'll never get it through your sewing machine if you don't!). The other thing is that they shed....alot!

But on the whole, I think the stuff is great. My avatar bear (Zak) is made from quality plush that I bought at my local habedashery. The whole time I was making him I kept saying to myself 'nobody is EVER going to want a lime green bear' but there was 3 people who emailed me wanting him (our very own Chloe got in there first!).
