Can one of you attorneys or paralegal types, or anybody with a bigger brain and more life experience than me, help me out with something?
I'm reviewing a contract and can't figure out what the heck t/a stands for.
???
Thanks!
My daughter is a paralegal and she says it stands for terms of agreement.

Thank you, although I admit, as it's being used in the contract, that definition makes absolutely zero sense. However, I'm sure you're absolutely right, and this is human error on the part of the contract writer. Would context help?
This Agreement is by and between so-and-so and "Shelli Heinemann t/a Potbelly Bears." That's how it reads, followed by my address after the word "Bears."
???
You're appreciated! Please thank your daughter for me!
it would be "trading as"
"trading as"
Oops, didn't see Sandra's response.
Sorry!
Perfection! I presumed something like that -- I was thinking D.B.A. (doing business as) -- but I've never seen this particular abbreviation.
Thanks, ladies!
I give Google the credit!
I'm a legal assistant and can't remember ever seeing t/a used but we do use cob (carrying on business as).
