Has anyone rec'd or placed Feedback on an eBay auction that went to a bidder designated #1, 2, 3, etc..? I'm curious if the names/IDs are revealed as well as the total bid amount by clicking on the Item # on the far right on the Feedback page.

If this info were revealed there, it would negate the anononymity of the original purpose of this new feature.

I'm about to write the text for my next auction and am torn between Private Bid listing (which will keep the amount and bidder out of the listing - just a rating/comment is posted w/no link to the actual item) or setting a Reserve and letting eBay proceed with the Bidder numbers.
Well, if it should go over $200 that will happen automatically, but I wanted to find out how the Feedback may be changed from what we've known in the past.

Hi Bobbie!

I have not completed an auction with this new system... but I believe the main purpose of the system is to prevent theives from emailing the NON-winning bidders with fake 2nd chance offers.  In this case, the system WILL work....

Hi Bobbie!  I'm in the process of completing an auction under the new "system" ... I've left positive feedback for my buyer and my eBay Seller ID does appear in her feedback page along with a clickable item number link.  Now... when you click on "Bids" on my auction page.... you or anyone else, sees the Bidder 1, Bidder 2 stuff.... I see the bidders, since it was my auction.  When my buyer does leave feedback for me, it should appear on my feedback page with her eBay ID AND the clickable link.

As Laura Lynn said.... it's not about keeping the actual winner of the auction anonymous, it's about keeping the underbidders unreachable to the fraudsters out there who then send out the fake "second chance" offers.  Presumably the winning bidder would obviously KNOW that a second chance offer is bogus since they have already purchased the real item.   bear_thumb

If you are looking to avoid clickable item numbers on your feedback page, the private auction format is your bet.
