Hey Ladies.
For a friend I created a tutorial about creating and manipulating layers in photoshop. It's very basic, but if you can't make an avatar or banner, this might be helpful for you. It's already created, so I might as well share it.
It's on the freebies page of my website.

I've tried to keep things simple as I can. I don't mind creating tutorials and I would love to make sure every bear artist can at least play around with their bear photos. But if it isn't clear let me know. I'm certainly no Shelli when it comes to explaining things, but I'm willing to improve.
Heather - you just might be able to walk me through this with that tutorial. I have Photoshop 7 and it's driving me nuts; even bought the dummies book. Will give it another try, sigh.

Just email me Marion if you need help......
Thanks, Heather . . . very thoughtful of you!
Wow! That's a great starting tut! I've been totally crippled when it comes to using photoshop because I'm clueless! Now maybe it'll start to make sense! Thank you for sharing this with us! When are you doing another one!??
PS. I LOVE the bear you used. Have we seen him? Did I miss him? He's wonderful!
I wanted to buy Photoshop but they don't seem to have a version still available that is compatible with Windows ME!

Heather many thanks for that .... I have trouble with photoshop 6 but I think the big problem with mine is that our comp doesn't have enough memory to operate it properly...
Heather, the biggest problem with most people using a pc who are boffins, is that they forget the little things, like if you say to someone go into the room and close the window.
They forget to tell the person to first open the door and then go into the room and close the window- stupid yes- as we all know that we first have to open the door to get into the room, but when working for the first time in any progam that is exactly what happens, people forget to mention that very first step, and then you are lost !!!!!
You sit and click and click and nothing happens, you call the person helping you, saying BUT I am clicking on the icon and nothing happens, and in the end you give up in frustration.
For me- with my deafness which is now getting worse, I do shut off, so having pictures helps , then I can print it out, sit down and try it out- so THANK YOU.

Heather you're amazing! I'd love to start a forum heading with this sort of stuff. Its so much fun to talk about and so much a part of the average bear artists life. that and photography and web sites too
