I'm glad I forced myself to use the new Seel Your Item format: an announcement from eBay last night that the (still available previous) format will be gone in May 07.)

And - do you like or dislike sellers/buyers to add your real name to the transaction's Feedback?

Eeek, I don't want to have my real name blown out to the whole world. Didn't know they can do that.

No, it's not tied to eBay. The Buyer/Seller might put something like this in in their Feedback for your purchase/sale:

"Thanks for the smooth transaction, Sabine!  5 Stars! Instant Payment!  (etc...)"

I wanted to know if ppl feel better about being addressed personally like this or does it make them uncomfortable?

I don't mind it as long as they don't use my full name....It makes it feel more personal somehow!!

Doesn't bother me in the least bit if they use my name when leaving me feedback, because I do have my name right there in full in all my auction titles, as well numerous times in my description.

However, I think if I was concerned about it, and ONLY went by Wild Thyme Originals, I might just send out an e Mail to the bidder when I mailed their bear..... with words to the effect of .... "...kindly refrain from using my given name when leaving feedback, for privacy reasons..... "

This sorta comes full circle back to ppl that have no given name on their own websites.
Do you think that's weird? Or just an overlooked detail? Sometimes just a first name...

because I do have my name right there in full in all my auction titles, as well numerous times in my description.

I like full disclosure in auctions & on websites, especially a business one! Why would one not give their name?

But as to thanking someone by first name in Feedback, does it give a false sense of camaraderie? I was just curious how many ppl thought it 'friendly' and others  - 'invasive'.

I think given what we do that kind of feedback is "friendly" and done with respect from a good place.  Most of us have our first and last names in our listings.  Most want buyers/collectors to associate names with sites, work, awards, etc.  And given that most teddy bear sites are warm and fuzzy with talks of hugs and collectors being cherished over the years I think it's all good.   bear_flower

I dont mind if people use my name at all...I think it adds a nice personal touch.
I use my buyers first name in my feedback to them...I have never had a complaint and I have been doing it for years!

Hugs,

Kim

I use their first name in the feedback if they have used it on the receipt in the pkg or in an email they sent.
I think it makes the big ol' world of EBAY a little smaller!

i agree with with the last comment, i think its friendly and even though ebay is this huge vast place, its nice to feel like part of a little community in the big world of ebay.
