What can you get protine and iron from on a veggie diet?
Soy (milk, tofu, edamame beans) and beans (navy, kidney, garbanzo) are great protein sources. Iron is found in breads & cereals, dried fruits, broccoli and spinach. This just off the top of my head. I'm sure you can find tons more info with a Google search!
Check out the American Heart Association pages..they give some pretty good breakdowns on vegetarian/vegan and other special diets.
Many of the premade veggie products take all of it into consideration and are created with balance in mind. I use a good deal of them with my diet, some I can't...but many of the items I can use and they're really good.

What is the difference between Vegan and Veggie?
A vegan eats NO animal products. No eggs, cheese gelatin etc. So for a true vegan that means giving up tylenol etc bec. even those have gelatin in them.
As for protein, it actually takes a combo of food to make a 'complete' protein.
examples are;
peanut butter + Bread
Beans + rice
etc. Just beans aren't a complete protein.
I find as a veggie, getting the protein is the easy part, it's the calcium that's hard to come by, unless you get fat eating cheese.
