I was just sitting working on a bear and saw the preview for Mimzy's release on March 23rd on NBC!!!
How exciting...it's the first time I've seen it....since I rarely go to the movies....AND it was on national TV.

Hurray!!!!
Yes, it's for real!!!
They are talking about sneak previews on Mar 10th but I can't find a theater anywhere around the northeast playing it then.
New Line Cinema has sent me tickets to a Promotional Viewing on Mar 18th in Boston. But get this.... it's at 10:30am on a Sunday morning! Do I really want to drive 2 hours to see it 5 days before everyone else? OK, so they did actually send me free tickets but by the time I pay for gas and lunch it'll cost me more than the tickets! Oh, I'm being crabby I guess. Henry says he'll go.... it's his Birthday!!!!
I've been working on some needlefelted Mimzy's... about 4" tall. I think I'm nuts!!
Daphne,
Oooooooooooh, I want to see them!
hugs,
Brenda
How Cool, cannot wait to see it here in Aussieland too.
l saw the trailer several times over the weekend here in SoCal. My husband thought I was crazy, as he does most days, when I said I know that rabbit and I know who made her. Yeah for you and Mimzy.
My daughter came running upstairs yesterday to tell me she saw the commercial on TV. We are planning to see the movie as soon as it opens. Not long now Daphne .......so cool !!! I can't wait to see your felted Mimzies.
How exciting . . . can't wait for the movie!
My husband watches NickToons on the weekends [men and cartoonies---what IS it??!!] and so I've gotten a couple glimpses of the trailer---it's so awesome to see Mimzy, I get shivers up and down my spine when I see the spiral pattern now! I can't wait to see it either!!

I finally saw the TV preview here in Chicago!! I was afraid they wouldn't show it here right away. I told hubby I wanted to see this in the theater ( we usually wait till movies are on DVD). I showed the preview to my 18 year old daughter and she can't wait to see it either! It looks so cool!
And I can't wait till I have my OWN Mimzy too!!!!
How exciting, Daphne! I was in SF last weekend and saw the movie poster up at a bus stop. The swirl is being used as a kind of vortex pattern into which the kids are peering...
o,k,, what am I missing? I want to hear all about this. What movie is this & who is Mimzy?
Hugs,
Denise
Denise, Daphne made the bunny (bunnies actually) that were used in this movie! Isn't that awesome? I can't wait to see it. When folks started talking about it before I had to do a search to find out what was up. The story actually started about a year ago, I am right?
By the way Denise, welcome to TT. I have been reading a little here and there and popping in just a little since I'm in grad school, but I was pleased to see you had joined . I love your work!
Here's the movie website!
Thanks, Tami! Yes, I can't believe a year has gone by already!
Denise, the following link will offer you a few threads regarding Mimzy, the chronicles of the Making of Mimzy and other such nonsense! The bottom 3 threads tell most of the story. Tami has given you the outline. (Thank you!)
There is also a bit of info on the front page of my website.
Shelli, I was able to get few of those movie posters from New Line. I'll be doing a "Meet the Maker" sort of thing at the New England Spring Teddy Bear Show in New Hampshire next month and they'll be perfect back drops.

Ahhhhhhhhh............ how incredibly cool, Daph! I'm just tickled for you. So exciting!
Thank you Tami for filling me in on this exciting news. PM me sometime. It's been a while.
As for you Miss Daphne, CONGRATS Girl. This is so exciting. I'm going to go look at the links right now.
It's really wierd, because just as I was getting online just now, I saw a preview to the movie. First time ever. I can't wait to go see it.
Big Hugs,
Denise
WOW Daphne, I just went & checked out your site & saw that you are producing a limited edition of The Mimzy line. This is even more exciting. Is Toner Dolls doing both the doll & The Bunny? You have just got to be on Cloud 9 I want to hear more details.
Congrats again Daphne. So COOL.
Big Hugs,
Denise : )
Hi Daphne,
I just spent about a 1/2 hour on the official Mimzy site. How COOL & your bunny is just adorable. Now, I really can't wait to see the movie. It really does look like a cool movie. I'll try & refrain from telling everyone in the theatre that I know who made the bunny
You must be so proud.
Big Hugs,
Denise : )
Congratulations! You must be so excited
Denise, Thank you! I have quite a fan club here, eh? While you all are saying you know the woman who made the bunny I'll be wearing big hats and huge sunglasses to hide behind! I've made sure my mother isn't going to the promo screening with us because she'd bring a megaphone and announce to everyone in the theater that the Mimzy maker was there and she'd have me wearing a big sign on my chest saying "Mimzy Maker" on it!
Tonner is making the bunny and the doll. I helped with material selection and assembly instructions and of course gave them the pattern and their very own sample bunny (which they've been using in their advertising). They are doing all the rest of the work. I'm glad it's not me. I made 6 for the movie and that was painful enough! I can't imagine making a thousand or more!
17 More Days.....
I'll try & refrain from telling everyone in the theatre that I know who made the bunny
I don't know that I will be able to restrain myself!!

Daphne,
How exciting is that!!
I had seen previews for that movie and wanted to see it before I knew you were even involved. Now I really want to see it!! I can't believe you made that bunny!! I went to the official website and also your website. That is just too cool!
So you made 6 bunnies for the movie!!
Good for you! You must be so happy!
Like everyone else here I will be telling people in the theatre that I know who made the bunny!
Ha Ha! I can just see you sitting in the theatre with a big hat and sunglasses, trying to avoid all the paparazzi trying to take your picture! :photo:
Once again... congratulations!

Daphne,
I haven't seen the trailer in Canada yet, but I've already show the website to everyone I can think of. "See that bunny - I know his mummy HONEST!" LOL! I can't wait until the movie comes here - my daughter has already said she will come with me YEAH!!!! Oh, and no-one in that movie theatre is safe haha! They will know the whole story by the time the movie ends!
hugs,
Brenda
