Well, having just returned from 3 months away from bear making and bear talk and all things bear, I figured I needed a little inspiration to get going again so treated myself to a new little bear for my antique bear collection. He just came in the mail the other day and I am so delighted with him that I just had to put his picture on here for you all to see. Isn't he a little darling!
Wow Edie!!!
Welcome back to the teddy bear world! He is a cute little bear. Doesn't seem like it has actually been three months....That seems like an insane amount of time looking back. GREAT to have you back on here. Looking forward to seeing some new bears from you. Hopefully a few of the big ones, like I PM'd you about back in November.
Hi there Edie! I was wondering where you were!!!!????
So good to see you back! What a sweet, sweet bear!

WELCOME BACK and yes hes one cute bear!!
Gorgeous little fella! Is he a Schucco Edie?
Thanks for the welcome backs - it's good to be catching up on here again!
No, the bear isn't a Shuco, Paula, but I have no idea what company did make him - I'll have to spend some time hunting through my books but I suspect I won't find out on this one as there are so many obscure makers that are impossible to identify.
Jodi, the bear was given the name "Basil" by his previous owner so I am debating keeping it as that or changing it to "Joy" which is the previous owner's name (an 82 year old lady from Eastern Canada). I think he looks more like a boy though so it'll likely have to stay "Basil". I actually don't normally name my antique bears as I have too many of them to remember the names. When I started out collecting antique dolls I used to name them but that even got to be too much after a while.
