Hello. I have never shipped internationally, is it as simple as any other transaction and shipping? I would appreciate any opinions! Thanks
Hi, I ship international a lot, I use Global Express Shipping, it is rather expensive but I have never had any problems in over 10 yrs! (knock on wood).......... you will have to make out a customs sheet!
Yes I agree,
Anthing that goes internationally has to go through customs.. So theres a tad of paperwork, but the bears "fly" there, approximately in a week.

Tami , do you have the customer pay the shipping fee? And how do you figure it first so you can ask for the correct amount? As you see I need to open up to that but haven't yet but I want to.

Oh!!! and do you insure it ? Do they pay that ?
Jodi, you can go to usps.com and go to calculate postage, international. put in the relevant country and weight - it will come up with the options. Some can't be insured ( Global Priority, Air letter post which despite the name can be a parcel hehe) I suggest you don't ever go with Economy as that will go surface and your customer might not be impressed having to wait months for their little cutie
USPS Is better for us international people, UPS in particular as well as FEDEX is way more expensive, not really faster plus they tend to tack on extra charges (UPS specially)
I ship internationally too and I always use global priority. It tends to be a little cheaper then the global express and it normally gets there within 4-7 days. Never had a problem before.
If you go to usps.com, you can order all your custom forms and have them all filled out when you get to the PO. Its makes your life alot easier and the people standing in line behind you will thank you too *smiles*
Good luck to you

Thanks for input! and Jodi, you asked questions I didn't even think of!
Global express can be insured yes, but it also comes with I think $100 of insurance included..... I use that from here to ship our dolls, its trackable online and everything, and gets there so fast! Of course you have to pay for the privelege hehe but I would say if something it expensive it's worth it- our doll parcels are usually worth at least $1,000 to us so they go EMS/Global Express- my bears I usually ship regular airmail cos its only one at a time mostly.
I know I am in Australia but have experienced the US postal system from the buying end.....thanks to Ebay
.
I also have been shipping internationally for years and have all teddies arrive to their new homes safely.
