My little Jessie, a x jack Russel, was badly bitten today by a BIG dog.
I have had Jessie since 1990, when she arrived outside my gates, she must have been about 8 or 9 months old. She has always strayed, a trait in the Jack Russel's and even when we had the property fenced off, she still got out. We watched her one day and she jumped from branch to branch in a tree and then ran along the wall.
Now that she has got older, she has been happy to take her morning walk with all the other dogs, but from time to time went her own way.
Today some dog must have got hold of her, maybe she was not as quick as when she was younger. we rushed her to the vet, where they stabilized her, then operated using gas because of her heart. She has had her tummy torn open, muscles ripped so at the moment I am not even sure if she will make it.
They say it never rains without pouring, right now, I think it must be hailing down on me.

I have a Jack Russell x and sometimes she thinks she is the biggest dog in the world and tries to take on the big dogs.

This is my little Jessie.
They operated and the bite had gone into her abdomen and thru the muscle, so its nasty.S
o far she is holding her own, and even managed to eat some food last night. This morning the vet said she is stable but still in extreme pain so they still keeping her.
She is such a little fighter, that just maybe she will pull thru.
The last few weeks for me have been extremely sad and painful , part of my therapy is to sit and work on my bears, and the other is to sit down and communicate via my computer.
In life we all get things thrown at us, and many people here have at some time also had to cope with the ugly side of life, receiving the messages just shows that in this big world of ours , so many people, strangers mostly have a kind word to say.

I'm so glad to hear she is getting there, what a worry....the first few days are the hardest when you bring her home. They heal pretty quickly tho and I hope Jessie will too.
