Tami, I got the word   I'll be teaching Grade Primary from September to at least May while the regular teacher is on paternity leave. I don't know what comes next so I'll just take it one day at a time.
Hooray, Shari!! You will be a wonderful teacher!!
I bet it feels good to finally know!!!
Is Grade Primary like 6-7 year olds? I taught first grade (6-7 year olds) before I was a mommy. That is a lovely age!
Hi Tami. Grade Primary is the first year of school (they may have gone to Preschool) , they are age 5 here when they start school so Primary is 5-6 year olds. I have been 20% (one day a week) in Grade 4. I actually went into Grade Primary full time at the end of April but was not sure if I would continue the position with a new class in September. I have some very challenging students coming in but the other Grade Primary teacher is a wonderful resource and support. I'm nervous but happy
Do you start in September or before? Your students are very lucky to have such a talented artist as a teacher
Shari, it sounds like Primary is like our Kindergarten. I'm sure you will be wonderful and you will enjoy it. My first full time teaching job was Kindergarten.
I am very happy (I don't think I have ever been more excited about starting a job!) and a bit nervous too. I get to create my own art curriculum based on a very vague course of study. so that will be challenging. I will have one class each of grades Kindergarten through 8. I am really looking forward to this because I enjoy different things about each age. We start August 23 so it's just about a month away. Do you start in September?
Fun days ahead Tami , Keep sharing .
