bear_ermm My eBay auction of my TOBY cat is going to be over in 20 minutes.
How can 20 minutes seem like an hour  bear_noexpression I think I'm OK with auctions but the last few minutes are really grueling. Any tips on how to stay calm through these last few minutes?
Thanks,
Karen

Click refresh at a slow but steady, methodical rate... perhaps put in your favoirte CD and hit refresh to the beat of a favorite song?
OK, I'm no help but your question was "What do you do...?" That's pretty much what I do. Oh, and go absolutely crazy. One time I decided to leave the room my computer was in, auction had 15 minutes left, sat down with hubby who was watching TV and next thing I know more than half an hour had past and I'd never gone back to the computer! The final bid was shocking and I learned my lesson..... stay with the computer!

None of this is helping or what you wanted to hear I'm sure but I know exactly how long 20 minutes can be! I'm sure a lot of us do!!! It'll be over soon!!! Hang in there, Karen!

I make breakfast. But if breakfast is over then I make...another breakfast. Which is more widely known as a 'Snack'

I'm not going to be much help, Karen - I don't watch.  I find it stressful, so I wait till I know it's over and then look!

LOLI  just hit re-load and hit re-load again LOL  Try not to think about it too much until it only has a few seconds to go. I can't imagine the excitment tho if my bears were making the money your cats (quite rightly I might add) make!

I had a nosey at how your cat did - congratulations, he did well - but could have seen him going well over what he did, so I hope you are happy!

Danni,
I try not to worry about what price a piece goes for. THere are sooo many really beautiful teddy bears that don't get the price they deserve!! I think that's one reason eBay can be so nerve wracking  bear_wacko It seems to have no rhyme or reason? I've tried to guess the ending of some auctions by the number of hits, ending time and all the other things that people suggest influence an auction. I haven't found one true indicator. I have found that you have to collect a loyal group of bidders. For me that's a group of about 5. I'm posting regularly and trying new cat styles to see if I can broaden that group. I guess if we could really predict the outcome we would all be millionaires   But I don't design for eBay, I design and create what I love and hope for the best.
Karen
P.S. I do think it helps that I love creating cats bear_rolleyes  I also create bears but I don't list them on eBay very often. Too much competition and pressure on me and my teddy!

Last time I was on holiday in Spain and I had to phone my daughter at the end of the auction. Usually I check with about 5 minutes to go. I think it's interesting to see what happens in the final moments of an auction..sometimes people start bidding frantically and other times nothing happens. I don't get too obsessed by it...que sera sera  bear_original

I go bonkers!!! thats what i do!! hitting refresh every few seconds in the final minutes...and lately with the way my auctions have been ending go into depression and eat hordes of chocolate!!! Congatulations on his final bid Karen, you so deserve it!!! He is amazing as all your cats are!

Krista

Since I don't sell on ebay, this doesn't apply to me, but I did notice that your cat went for a very nice price - big congrats!!!  Well deserved!
