I've been in the fragrance shop, finally decided on Kylie's 'darling' for a change - yummy!!  Just wondered, what fragrance do you like or wear at the moment?   bear_original

I mostly wear Celine Dion's "Belong".  Sometimes I like "Lucky You" by Liz Claiborne.

I only wear Demeter Fragrances anymore. I like them because they don't change or "turn" over time...like some perfumes do with body heat. I like Peach in the summer, sometimes mixed with Angel Food and then  either Cinnamon Buns or Devil's Food in the winter.
They're a really fun fragrance company, as you can see by the new fragrance on their home page.....Crayon bear_grin   They hit the fragrances right on...even the weird ones  bear_grin

I usually wear mosquito spray. You laugh, I know. But I mountain bike nearly everyday and I usually wear OFF and some sort of ivy block. That mixed with any kind of perfume really stinks. Lotions make me slimy when I sweat. So it's pretty rare that I actually smell like a girl. HOWEVER... I love Bath and Body works aromatherapy lotion and bath gel (eucalyptus and spearmint). My perfume of choice (which I really love and wear when i go out with my husband) is Escada Lily Chic.

I like Baby Grace by philosophy; Demeters "Laundromat"; and Rain or China Rain essential oils.  But I rarely wear any of them and can most typically be found cavoring about wearing only the aroma of Eau de Shelli.  Well, that, and sometimes, turpenoid, if I'm working with oils.

The clean fresh smell of my shower (soap)!
I love to fragrance the rooms - especially fresh from our gardens (like Diane, who has a fresh bouquet on her sewing tble) - but don't care for personal fragrances.

Of course, no self-respecting TTer would *ever* over-do the application!!

Getting something in the mail from someone who wears a lot of fragrance, skaking hands with or handling something a man has who's just put on cologne has handled  are as big a turn-off to me as smoking. I hate to have to leave my newest eBay purchases out on the enclosed porch for a week to air out.

Sorry! Just that my head can't take it...

Since most...perhaps all perfumes close my throat...and I can hardly breathe...When I wear fragrance...I wear Lavender Oil ...only the pure essential oil...you can make the most wonderful spritzer...by taking a spray bottle, putting some pure filtered water in it with a couple of drops of lavender oil & keep it in the refrigerator...then take it out & mist your body...it's so refreshing & relaxing!!!!
Also,I am just enough of an old hippy...patchoulli is still a wonderful smell to me...but I save it for at home...cause I get some strange looks when out...Does anyone still burn incense??? Nag Champa is my numero uno

Ohhh looks like some of us were posting at the same time...lol...I had to add...if you want to know if a perfume or fragrance oil or essential oil are pure...put a drop in a burning (non fragrance)candle...if its pure..it will smell wonderful...if not...it will smell synthetic or plastic like...used to have to test all new oils when I worked in an herb store...plus...when your nose gets overwhelmed by smells...smell some fresh roasted coffee beans...clears your nose really quickly...
LOL sorry...just old tidbits of stuff...that I used to have to do.

When I wear fragrance...I wear Lavender Oil...

LOL Charlotte, I find it just as effective to pick a lavender stem or a lemon verbena leaf in the garden - - - and tuck it into my bra. A delightfully refreshing waft of natural fragrance rises up to my nose from my neckline occasionally as I move around, and I'm the only one that smells it.

I know just what you mean about throat closing. For me it's either a headache or nasal areas closing off.

Sorry, not to step on toes of those that enjoy it. It just doesn't work for some of us, either on ourselves or too much on others....

I'm with you ladies.  I suffer allergies which is part of the reason why I rarely wear perfume.  It tends to just start bugging me.  My nose itches, my throat itches, my eyes get stingy and red.   And really, there's nothing worse than being near someone who is absolutely surrounded by a cloud-like AURA of fragrance.  Overwhelming!

I do burn incense on occasion but that gets overwhelming for me at a certain point, too.  The one thing I've found that I can tolerate well, in terms of an environmental fragrance, is either a very pure orange essence or the Yankee Candle company's "Clean Cotton" scented room sprays and candles.

When it comes to covering myself with scent, though, really, Eau de Shelli.  That's pretty much it unless I'm feeling stinky and have somewhere to go!

PS  Love lavendar too!

Gucci Rush.  I use the shower gel and the body lotion.  Parfum only on occassion.

On a side note:  I do use lavendar sachets in the closet with my mohair and vintage childrens wear.  I've heard it keeps the bugs away!  It also makes everything smell fresh.   bear_original

Oh, Aleta's comment on sachets reminds me.  I have an armoire in my bedroom and I stick those all natural, homemade type soaps (of course, I don't make them; I buy them) in there.  Lemon, Rose, Licorice.  They blend together and make everything smell GLORIOUS!

No perfumes here, either - hubby is so alergic it gives him major asthma attacks, so I don't bother anymore.  I haven't bought perfume in so long, I don't even know what's out there.  I do have one bottle of Fruits and Passion "orange/cantaloupe" that I use sparingly, if I'm going out with our daughter somewhere.   I just use hand made soaps,  bath oils or bath salts, as long as I use them in "my bathroom" and keep the door closed afterwards, till the smell disipates.  I can't even used hand creams with fragrance.  On the upside, it means I get to go into a lot of "smelly" shops by myself, without  him nugging me to hurry up LOL!

No perfume here, not because of allergies but because it goes sour on me.
Really not a good mix.

I use shower gels and sometimes dab something on my clothes, never on my skin.

I used to love perfumes until a few years ago when I found that it gave me a severe headache, my all time favourite is Dior Addict by Dior and I also have Beautiful by Estee Lauder, I can just about wear a very small amount of these. I did realise that the avertion to smells is very likely due to the menapause bear_cry

Don't... say... menopause... here.  It might just set off a mass estrogen fluctuation in this population (sorry Richy, Jeremy.) bear_original  I'm 41 and not officially there yet but I'm for sure staring down the barrel of that gun as of this year with some funky stuff going on, girly-wise.

So just... don't... say... the M word.

I'm a big fan of 'B never too busy to be beautiful's fragrances... google them XD i use 'Love' in the winter: it smells like baked apples, and 100 Kisses Deep in the summer: that one's like lemon.  I also like Nina Ricci's 'Nina': another apple based one!

Clare I'm with you I just discovered Kylie's 'Darling', well Sarah found it really. It smells so nice, I don't know why but it reminds me of a fragrence that this male dancer/ well Chipendale was wearing when I danced with him...now I'm blushing...but that's another story, I'll keep you guessing...unless you really want to know  bear_grin  bear_grin  bear_grin  bear_grin  bear_grin  bear_grin  bear_grin  bear_grin  bear_grin  bear_grin  bear_grin  bear_grin

I am a long time Chanel No 5 addict..and pretty much nothing else will do. I have cupboards full of others that people buy me but I always plump for No5. I don't wear it unless I am going to work or out and about ..at home I shower and go. I detest room sprays unless they are the natural kind..we often have a scented candle ( I like the Aveda ones best) and I always have a bunch of flowers here and there about the place!

Don't know that I'd worry about something smelling nice that came in the post...just so long as it isn't of damp or worst of all , cigarette smoke...

Hi Clare I smelt the new Kylie one and yes it is good, might get a bottle soon but my all time favorite is Estee Lauder "Knowing", I love it, it is really feminine without being too heavy and flowery.

Ok just for you Shelli...My friend had won two tickets to a show in town and asked if I would go with her. I asked her what it was and she said it's some sort of singing and dancing show from America. I agreed to go with her and we met outside the theatre only for me to find that this was The Chippendales show. For those members who don't know of the Chippendales well it's stage show with an all male cast for an all female audience. The men themselves are stunning tanned, toned, buffed and beautiful, America's original and finest male dancers, dare I say strippers (sorry) Well my friend is the most reserved lady and almost dropped at the idea of seeing the show. BUT we went in and took our seats. The show was great near the knuckle but not quite 100% revealing.  From the very beginning the atmosphere was buzzing, my friend had a look on her face that I'd never seen before.  bear_grin  Then a really handsome guy started singing a song that my brother-in-law sings in his shows. I was turned to my friend to ask if she knew what the show the song came from but she had this strange expression on her face and she just gulped and said Jane. I turned my head to see the was this beautiful hunky guy standing by me with his hand stretched out to me. He took my hand and lead me into the isle and started dancing with me. Now all the women were screaming, I felt the heat in my face rising but all I could think of was 'wow, you smell so good. Once back in my seat my friend just took hold of my hand and made a funny gulping sound. Then it was interval time and suddenly I was surrounded my women and questions were flying left, right and centre. The question that stood out to me was 'What did he smell like, so many of the women asked this and it was then that I realised that his smell was what had stood out to me most, it was beautiful. My friend begged me not to speak of the show but by the next day word had got around and all the Mums at the school gates know I had danced with a Chippendale....guess what....they asked what did he smell like. Go figure.
