This little bundle came to live with us a couple of days ago ... I couldn't resist sharing her pics with you! She's just 8 weeks old and full of mischief. For some reason she dismissed the name 'Missy' as being too prim, turned her nose up at 'Minnie' (after 'The Minx'!) and is currently responding well to 'Puddle', of all names!
The pics aren't brilliant ... she moves way too fast for me and my camera and to make life even more tricky, she's as black as night!
If anyone else would like to share pet pics on this thread, please feel free!
Oh Paula, what a little darling! We are very partial to black cats, having had 5 of them over the years. They are the nicest wee souls. I am very jealous.
hugs,
Brenda
Oh your kitty is so sweet. I have some puddles of my own :O) We had a litter of 4 pups and kept one little bugger...Oscar. He is a happy little guy but lots of work! Best of luck with your new kitty.
(Sorry can't get his image to upload.)

oh I just love your little kitty. I adopted a black cat many years ago from the Humane Society. So was so loving we called her Lovie. She had a very long life and has passed on but I think of her often.
Ooooooohhh what a lovely little cat, she looks so cute, I absolutely felt in live when I saw her mischievous eyes!
But with my two little budgies it wouldn´t be a great idea to let her in my house
OOOOOOO... So CUTE! I LOVE kittens!

Cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute! I love kitties! This one is darling. We had a black kitty, Emme, who died a few years ago; I still miss her terribly. I've read, and actually personally believe, that black kitties have THE best personalities. No idea why, but it seems to be true. Also, they seem to bring out the worst in people's pet allergies so if you start sneezing a lot, see your doctor for nasal spray! It helps! Something about the dander on black cats. Actually I've even read about that on the web, though I don't think there's a concensus on the point.
I'm sure this wee darling will keep you entertained for years to come. Enjoy the kitten days because they go too quickly!
Such a cutie; thanks for sharing!
So glad you've enjoyed meeting my Puddle! She's such a character ... Shelli, it was very interesting to read your comments about black cats ... this is my first and she's certainly full of devilment! Actually, I thought it was about time I had a black cat - the witch in me was craving one!
I've always had cats and sadly lost my three girls over recent years, so Puddle is a delight for me. It's so good to have a little girl cat again ... I think my two boys are sulking, but they'll come round to her charms soon I'm sure. My ginger cat Toffee is only prepared to tolerate Puddle if he can steal her baby cat milk ... I'm having to keep my eye on him! Sneaky thing he is!!
She's fast asleep on my lap as I type right now ... one, two, three, aaaahhhh!!
Awwwwwwwwwww...she's adorable...I love black kitties. We have one that came to live with us last fall during the harvest moon right before Halloween...she's my lucky charm...Slinky is her name.
This wee one makes me miss all my little babies as the last one Stinkerbell just found a home over the weekend and I'm missing her terribly...okay here comes the alligator tears.
Enjoy her Paula...she is puuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrfect!!!
Paula,
I, too, have found over the years that black cats are wonderful! HAve you had you kitten checked by the vet? I noticed she's showing her third eyelid (the white on the inside corner of her eyes) This is usually a sign that a kitten has stomach problems or something that is upsetting her stomach. She is beautiful and so young
Karen
Very, very cute.
Soo cute Paula, there is little in this world that is cuter than a kitty.
Karen, interesting point. Something I've NEVER heard of before.
Oh she is so sweet!!!! Look at that little face!!
I love cats - I am currently looking after my Mum's cat 'Molly' for a few days whilst she is away, and Molly likes to sit on my lap whilst I type too!!! She is an indoor cat, and her personality is fabulous!!! Enjoy your new kitty!!!
I noticed that, too, Karen. She may have worms, Paula . . . I've read that when those third eyelids show, something is amiss health-wise. She is a darling. I've had two black cats and adored them both. But then, I'm known for adoring all cats.
Simply adorable!
I love kitties.
Anubis is not a kitten anymore as she is a little over one year old. She is such a darling cat.
she was black as a baby but she now has some grey hair too.
Have fun with your kitty!
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Thanks for the advice Karen and Sue Ann, she's due for her jabs and a check with the vet very soon. As for worming, she's been wormed, flea'd etc., and has lovely bright clear eyes when she's wide awake ... she'd just woken up when I snapped her at the food bowl and was still sleepy. She's only just 8 weeks old, so still very tiny. Everything seems to be in good working order so far. I'll be keeping a close eye on her though, of course. I think maybe the red eye reduction flash on my camera may well have affected her when I took the pic ... this is what I read about light affecting the third lid ..
"The third eyelid is on the inside corner of the cat's eye and is referred to as the nictitating (blinking) membrane. It helps to protect the cat's eyes from a number of dangers, including excess light and foreign substances. When there is too much bright light, the third eyelid partially covers the eye, filtering the light."
After all my years of having cats, I had no idea that the third lid was an indicator of illness though, so thanks, as they say, you learn something new every day!
Oh my, Paula. Puddles is such a precious kitty. I'm a dog person myself, but Puddles almost makes me want to adopt a kitty. My dog Buster is afraid of cats, but my dog Bear would have a cat living under the sofa or up a tree. He thinks he is "great hunter".
What a gorgeous little kitten Paula.I love cats and kittens are always sooo cute.
She looks so mischievious in the first piccie-just like she is looking for something naughty to do.You will have to keep an eye on your pins and needles and threads too-kittens get into everything.
Laurie
What a cutie. Same thing happened at my daughter's house last year. A wonderful little black kitten showed up at their doorstep hungry and cold. She's turned out to be a good cat, very loving and grateful for her rescue.

And I learned this, too, from you. Thanks for sharing!
Oh Paula - that really is a cute cat and sweet photos. My daughter has a very similar photo of her black cat - Satan - when he was tiny and at the food bowl. He's a big cat now - 4 or 5 years old - and still a mischief. He's not normally a "lap cat" but he is for my husband who is NOT a cat person - but definitely THIS CAT'S person!. Strange really, my son-in-law is not a dog person, but our old dog used to worship him much to everyone's amusement.
Anyway, you're definitely going to get a lot of amusement from that gorgeous bundle of black fur - hope you're not into making black bears at the moment!!!
Have fun.......and more photos as he grows!!!
