Hello.
This is off topic but my curiosity is killing me. I was mosing around ebay and fell upon the reborn dolls. Breathtaking! They are amazing pieces of art.  I even had to buy one !
Okay , my question..has anyone reborn a doll ?  I am so tempted..I love my little bears but I can't get these dolls out of my mind.   Any input would be appreciated.
again, Please excuse my being off topic. I'm hoping to find an artist that does both or has tried the dolls
Thanks

Hi Anna, funny you should ask! Yes I have done one doll and loved it but my love of making my bears and primates won the draw so I will not be doing another doll any time soon. I have just (today) listed a full tutorial on Ebay on how to 'Reborn' dolls. Here's the item number, just paste it into the search box...it is listed on ebay.co.uk.

Hope you don't mind, Louise but your baby is amazing.  Had to share.

I can understand you being totally amazed by these reborn babies.  Some of them are amazing.  I found an artist who does the most beautiful babies, and I gave her the details of my daughter at birth, weight, height, hair colour etc. and she made me a baby, very similar to my own daughter, and her exact weight.  Whenever I forget the baby days (it was 11 years ago!!) I can pick up my baby and it is the exact replica and weight of my daughter when she was born.  My daughter holds "her as a baby" and cannot believe she was so little!!

The artists will fill them will pellets to an exact weight if you ask them.  My husband thinks I am nuts!!!!!

Hi Jane..I don't see the item number for your listing. I bought one e-book but would like to check out your listing.

Christine..That is a wonderful idea.
I bought a doll whose little bent down lip made my heart melt. My husband has green eyes and I have brown..all 4 of my children have brown.. The doll has green...I just wanted one child to have his eyes. bear_sad
I don't think men understand..I don't want any more children but there are days that I ache to hold a little baby... maybe a little doll will help until I get some grandchildren  bear_original

Oh, I know what you mean.  My Mum visits and holds the little baby reborn doll, which is the replica of my daughter, and my Mum can't put her down.  My Mum had six children of her own.  When I saw how much she loved my "baby", I brought her one of her own - she cried and cried and was just so thrilled.  The little baby reborn I brought her looked exactly like my eldest sister when she was born - lots of dark hair and peaches and cream complexion.  The similarity is quite amazing.  They actually make a lovely gift for "Nanna's".

I hear you ..I have been looking at the cost..and start up costs are high..paints, tools, doll, hair, eyes, clothes.   I was making primitive cloth dolls for a short time .  But I lost to the struggle with the sewing machine bear_ermm
