Ok, so here's my story
About a month ago I bough an E+R Classic sewing macine from a website. It was £70, and promised to do everything a more expensive and well known macine would do, with a five year guarantee, so I though why not? I parted with 70 of my lovely pounds and in a few days the machine turned up.
Now, I don't know much about them technically, but I know when you turn them on and press on the foot pad they sew This one; the needle didn't move at all, and the right hand side dial didn't turn; it just 'whirred', so I arranged for it to be picked up and swapped. The new one came, and this one won't change the needle position, and he needle is biased to the right so every time I attempted to sew another needle went
So, I rang them up today, and they won't refund me without me paing the shipping fee to get it back to them So I'm going to have to exchange it: the man suggested a Toyota instead as they are more robust? Does anyon have any experience with these machines? I don't want to spend more than £100 ideally as I am not that good yet, but the site's here if you want to make any suggestions they will be greatly appreciated :)
(this is the machine I currently have:)
Well...I've been using a Toyota sewing machine since I first started making bears, which is around 7yrs now,
and so far have had no problems at all..... The model I have is the electronic version and can do fancy stitches
....but I only use it for stitching the bears now, and I use it every day......so for me its been a good buy!!!

Thanks Yvonne: if a Toyota produces your bears I'd be happy for some of that magic to rub off on me! I assume yours is quite a flash model? I was thinkning of going for the Jeans Plus one... it's about £95...
Chloe..I actually bought the machine many years before I started making the bears, and thought I would use the
embroidery feature....but never really did....so I would just go for a straight foward simple version if I needed to buy a new one. I'm sure the one your thinking about would be fine. Good luck with it....
Hugs Yvonne
Thanks, I think I will choose a Toyota: glad to know it wasn't a case of everyone hating them! Fingers crossed I'll be sewing again soon...
