Well, our holiday to Thailand is just about here (yippee) ... one day of work left (hope I can clear that desk!) and we fly out Sunday morning. I won't be around to see how everyone's doing for a few weeks and will miss TT terribly (there are many days when I just 'catch up' to see what all of you are up to without logging in ... sorry, my brain is sometimes fried by the time I get home from work & get dinner out of the way.
Managed to finish off a couple of bears for my sister who's home in Oz for a few weeks (she's one of the Snr Pursers for Saga Cruise Lines) and they will be going off to live with her friends in the UK - I've posted them to the Showcase (in case anyone wants to peek). Guess that makes my bears international - he he he!
Will catch up with everyone when we get back.

Have tons of fun, Margaret, and don't forget to take pics to show us when you return!
wishing I were going again as well. My daughter just returned after 4 years in Thailand - I can tell you she's not looking forward to experiencing a Canadian winter. She very well may be looking to go back by January!
Marion
Thank you for your kind wishes girls.
Marion, I bet your daughter will really feel the difference! The humidity can be a killer! We're off to Koh Samui for a few days first (I have visions of relaxing on the beach under a palm tree) then up to Chiang Mai in the north for 5 days where we will experience the Loy Krathong Festival (floating lantern festival of the full moon) and visit the Golden Triangle (where Thailand meets Burma & Laos) then Phuket for 7 days and home.
Sue-Ann - hope to take plenty of pics to share when we get back.
Not looking forward to getting up at 3am for a 4am airport shuttle pickup. We are 2.5 hrs south of Sydney and have to be there 2-3 hrs before our flight (yuk!)

Sounds like so much fun. We didn't go to Samui - although my daughter went regularly since she was living in Suratthani. We went to Koh Lanta, which is near Phuket but not as busy and also spent 5 days or so in ChaingMai. The shopping in Chaing Mai is fantastic - bought a lot of jewelry and pottery at the warehouses. Make sure to go to the evening markets, especially the one on Sunday. We also went on a tour of the Golden Triangle, which was very interesting...and of course don't forget to visit the elephants! My fondest memory was an elephant trek thru the jungle and visiting the hill tribes.
Sigh,
Marion
