Hi Jacqui
Just been on, cannot find anything. bear_sad
Everytime put something in, went back to where I was before.
I was looking for mohair( to make bears), and brought up all the mohair bears.  bear_wacko
I thought it was just my computer playing up.

Hi Jacqui and Kay, I had trouble too tonight, brings everything up - but right at the bottom it says "you are testing ebay's new system you can opt out of this if you wish" - and you can click the "opt out" as it is a link and it went back to normal.  Hope this works for you.

Hi Pauline

Thanks for that, its just I have had numerous complaints that people cannot find my items anymore, so obviously like me they did not see that message.  Ebay chat live was a waste of time, they did not understand what I was going on about and was it one item I was looking for ...I said No! 60 of them in my store that I have paid to be listed under bear making supplies..they replied that I should ring them to resolve...so guess what I am doing next...why do they have to mess????

Be back again...I am like a bad smell!!!!!

Hi Again

Well what can I say to all of this!! nearly sorted the only thing is if we all press the opt out button then we are back to normal and then they might get the hint...They should have told us they were testing this out before just doing it.  What about all the other people out there who just browse for bears and don't see the button, surely we are still going to be lost among all those items like mohair wool and artist jarsLOL Its not funny really.

So press the button everyone, everyones vote counts!

Good Luck

Hi Kay and Pauline

Just to let you know I have phoned ebay and basically this test will go on for as long as it takes, they admitted it was not right as you have to find the opt out button first, they will not put it on the top of the page.  They also agree the new system by .co.uk is not right as it does not find specifics i.e. when there were 300+ artist bears there are only 39 now, in One of a Kind, its not the usual artist bears you would expect to find, we can only hope that eventually people will find the opt out button and go back to the old way, but that is going to take time.  Ebay said if we on co.uk emailled ebay with enough complaints they have to do something about it.  I have also noticed that when you pay for featured on .com you normally get a listing in .co.uk well thats not happening today, just picking out random ones very hit and miss.  Also you have to be more specific with your tiltle to be found in ebay searches with this new system, just like you would with your website if you want google and the likes to find you.

Lets hope ebay testing this does not effect our sales.

Hugs
Jacqui

I am so pleased that you posted this Jacqui, i could'nt find anything and the opt out link at the bottom of the page is almost invisible even after you had pointed it out.
I will email eBay and tell em what i think of em - the swines! Are they intent on losing sales revenue or simply trying to lose customers???? Maybe they are trying to wind down eBay.co.uk and only use eBay.com? Who knows, but artisan listings on eBay.co.uk have been on a downward spiral for months now - or they are hidden!

Yes I will e-mail them and complain too.  The thing is you "opt out" but later on it will happen again and you keep having to click the "opt out" again and again.  This has been going on for quite a while now and I think eventually there won't be an "opt out" button and we will be in a mess. Things change all the time but almost never for the better.

Warm wishes
Pauline

Hi Guys What a BLXXDY mess, have just spent this diner looking at it, my observations are that the listing criteria is different in UK to US now, after the first page on Uk selling it goes into all sub catagories, but the US doesn't, could not find any UK artists who list in US ($)in catagory "brand"-bears followed by sub cat "artist" instead found a few in "brand"-not catagorised, it appears if listing in US ebay it puts you anywhere, therefore forcing our hands to list in UK ebay, and what about our neighbours across the water so much for a single worldwide artist section!!!!! hope you all understand the ramblings, have had to be very quick and am a bit mad bear_angry

It is a total mess, after hours on the phone to the US last night they agreed it was all wrong but it was a UK thing and the best form of attack was for us to go on mass and email them with our complaints.   It is totally to pot...I checked out other items on ebay and they have done it across the board, but as ebay.com mentioned to me as our section for artist bears and one of a kind is specialised our needs have been overlooked.  I was fuming last night as I have an ebay store and could not find any of my listings...I said I am paying to be seen like everybody else....I thought I would alter all my titles to accomodate the search words...but guess what..you can't alter a title!! just have to wait to re-list again..what a waste of money.

If this causes me any more problems I am going onto bearpile and opening up a catagory there to accomodate my supplies.  Which will cost less and still give me all the features of Paypal and credit card payment.

Off to sulk in a corner.

I only found your items because i had added you to 'my fav sellers' list Jacqui otherwise i would never have found any of your listings again.
I have left a message on the eBay discussion board as there is a post there from eBay.co.uk inviting comments on their new search engine and layout. If you want to join in the debate, in 'My eBay' click on the ' See All eBay Announcements...' link and you will be taken to the relevent page and then click on the 'Updated: Testing an Improved Finding Experience' link then.........click on the very easily overlooked 'here' link which takes you to the discussion page.
Ebay are making it very difficult to find anything nowadays it seems - even the discussion! Maybe they forsee trouble ahead?

They did the same thing to Ebay.ca several months ago - they tried a "new search" procedure.  So many people were  upset that they must have been inundated with emails.  ANyway, it was never changed.  So I think emails DO work and may be your best way to tell them to LEAVE IT ALONE!

Hi

I did the opt out thing as well but I visited again today and it's back to how it was. I don't know if you have to opt out every time.

I went to the 'buy' page and clicked on 'dolls and bears' and then clicked on 'artist bears'. This then took me to a main page where on the left hand side there was different options with only 2 available, I think one was for 'new or old' and the other was for 'Type' but there was no artist option there.

I had to scroll down further on the left hand side to then find the option for 'narrow your search' where 'one of a kind' , 'manufactured' and 'other artist bears' are listed.

They are quite difficult to notice as the page does not fit your screen size.

Am I right that this is how people are not able to find the artist bear's?

I agree I don't know why they change things, I was about to list in ebay but I'm not sure now.

Can someone just reply and tell me that I've understood it correctly?
Many thanks
Shelly.

Hi Shelly,
I opted out, and is fine now, the odd thing out of place, but otherwise ok.
Hope that answers your question.

Hi Shelly

I have to press the opt out button everytime I log out of ebay, it is so hard to find, I have a large screen and it still does not fill it properly, just a mess.

You do have to refine your search for artist, one of a kind, even for bear making supplies that has disappeared off the main search catagories, you have to look under bears,  and other to find bear making supplies.

After my long chat with ebay, it seems as if we will have to wait and see what the outcome of their test brings to see if they put it back to how it was.....all I can say again is to all UK TTers who use ebay is to email a complaint, as I was advised to do.

Fingers crossed it goes back to the way it was.

With regard to listing on ebay, just make sure you put the relevant search words in your title, be more specific, that is what they want us to do.

Good Luck
