Copy-3-of-DSCN2342.JPGI'm afraid I'm going to blow my own trumpet as yesterday I came 'first' in category nine of the British Bear Artist Awards 2007.

It was a very wet and windy day in Brighton but my spirits were lifted by coming first for
'Bear Makers for less than 18mths'.

My entry was my first teddy I've made so maybe I will have to include teddy friends with my rabbits more often.

The standard of work in all categories was wonderful and the work put into some of the larger pieces was just amazing.

Well done to everyone else and also to everyone who was shortlisted.

Best wishes
Shelly.

Dear Shelly, wonderful news  - well done, I just adore your rabbits and together with teddy friends they are soo sweet bear_original  I'm glad you had a lovely day.  You don't happen to know any other results from the awards do you, such as category 4 (bears 16" and above undressed)?

Well done! I knew you'd win when I saw your entry bear_tongue  My bear Marmite came Third in the same category, which I'm pretty pleased with as I'd only been making bears for five months at that point!

O'h how exciting and congratulations to you Shelly and the other winners.

Please, if you have any pictures we'd love to see them.

Is it possible for one of you kind ladies to post any other winners?  I was unable to attend and I was in Category 11 and am just thrilled to see all the winners.

bear_cry  Aww thanks Shelly, that means a lot to me!  I was very new to this all then (and I'm not much better four months on!), so third means an awful lot to me, especially as i could not be there myself... anyone know anything about the second place entry at all?

Yeah, I was Hedgerow Bears until I finally accepted that, although I love love LOVE traditional bears like Wee Scones and Aletas and everone elese, I physically cannot create one bear_tongue  So yeah, all my pieces are Luglies now: ugly, lovely and PROUD!  bear_grin  bear_rolleyes  bear_grin

It LIGHTS UP!?!? *dies and floats off to her happy place*
