Yesterday I had to go with one of the ladies from church to pick fabric and get quotes from a couple of upholstery shops as we are going to have seat cushions made for the pews in our nearby little church. As we were waiting in the first shop for the estimate, I glanced around at a few shelves with left over rolls of upholstery fabric and what do I see but a small roll of vintage long pile (YES - the one that all the miniature bear makers love!) in a light coppery colour. I asked the owner if the fabric was for sale and he said yes, it was left over from a long time ago and he would be happy to get rid of it and sold me the whole roll - over 2 yards when I got it home and measured! I can't believe my luck - although I have heard of others making finds like this in small upholstery places I never thought to go look - actually didn't even know the place existed until I went there!
WOW Edie Congrats on an amazing find

Cheryl
You're funny, Cheryl!!! I will say a little prayer of thanks though!
That's very cool Edie! What a great find. What's even better is that it's new. Nobody has been sitting or lying down on it for the past however many years....
Can't wait to see a bear from it!

ok, so we need a green with envy emoticon!
you must be feeling like the cat that's got the cream. sadly, the malden fabric was never used here in nz so unless there's a divine miracle, it'll never happen to me . looking forward to seeing your new creations. You've plenty of fabric to experiment with for the outside the box challenge!
