Hi there, my name is Akisa and I'm a Ring-tailed lemur.
I'm made from Schulte mohair and ultrasuede.
My long tail, arms and hands/feet (including individual fingers and toes!) are wired so that I can be posed.
I have lovely glass eyes and a waxed embriodered nose.
I do hope that you like me, I would really love it if you would leave a comment or two. :)
Thanks for dropping by!
Best wishes, Akisa (& Lisa)

Ruth
I am speechless!!! That is one great lemur. Did you make him/her for yourself or as a gift or sale?
Wonderful!
Aeri
Ruth, you have an excellent memory. I used to love watching Animal Magic.
Aeri, I guess you could say that I made her just for fun. I should put her up for sale but when it comes down to it I chicken out. Posts relating to the hassels of ebay etc put me off and also I see work that I feel is much more appealing than mine remaining unsold.
Regards
Lisa
Oh my goodness, this is an amazing piece. I wouldn't sell him for the world if I were you Lisa.
Beautiful!!!!! Lisa you have captured the look of these guys really well. The eyes look especially wonderful.
I love to watch the lemurs whilst I'm down at Monkey World. There's a special enclosure called Madagasie wher visitors can walk around with the lemurs who run free. I've some great shots of lemurs climbing all over my wheelchair. The keeper was amazed as they usually don't do that kind of thing.
Hugs, Jane.
Eyes. I must be obsessed with these beautiful looking eyes, did you make these?
Many thanks for the kind words ladies.
Jane, these new walk in enclosures are really wonderful aren't they, when I visited London Zoo last year they had the same kind of set up. I don't think that I got to see them quite as close as you must have done however.
Amoryllis, this creation actually started off with the eyes. I got them first and everything else followed after. I would love to say that I painted them myself but sadly not (I haven't plucked up the courage to go that far yet), they are glass taxidermy eyes.
Regards
Lisa
