Someone recently asked me "Where do you get your inspiration from?".
I just thought I'd let you know that with friends sending me emails with pictures like these...I'll never lack for inspiration!
I've never tried to bathe my cats . . . now I know why!
I tried it once SueAnn and that was more than enough . But the pictures are hilarious my favourite is the orange and white cat close up of the face with those huge Amber coloured eyes wow.

for me definitely the third from the bottom. Just the look on his face when he realises that he is going to get a second dunking
you're a crackup Sandi

My fave is the little black "alien" character !!!
Ruth
Thanks so much for these Sandi, I needed a good laugh this morning and I certainly got one with these fantastic cat pictures. Por little loves they all look terrified.
Hugs, Jane.
That brings back bad memories. I had to bathe my cat "once". We had put flea powder on her and she had a reaction. We had no choice but to bathe her immediately. Well it was not a pretty sight. I ended up with one unhappy cat and one bleeding shoulder.
Wow, that's exactly what my Persian looked like when I bathed her - an Alien!
These are so funny. I've never had a cat, but it looks to me like they aren't supposed to be bathed, at least from their point of view. It's hard to pick a favorite, but if the alien is the little skinny black kitty with the big ears and blue eyes, I'd have to say he does appeal to me. Thank you, Sandi, a good way to start the week.
When I worked for a vet I had to bathe cats regularly and I have the scars to prove it. Sometimes we called it Kitty Rodeo.
Being a cat lover, I found the pictures funny then very sad as to the way the cats must have felt. Very tramatized.
   Being a retired pet groomer, I have to say these do crack me up ~ probably because its not me wrestling with them.
Tip #1, take toenail clippers and trim the claws. Seriously. The claws will grow back, and all you have to clip off is the 'hook' on the end. You're aiming to blunt the weapon, not remove it.
Tip #2, soap kitty if they have to sit with a flea shampoo or other for 10 minutes, and then set them in a warm carrier. No water, just soap straight onto dry cat. In over 6 years of doing this, I've never had a cat lick the soap. Dogs yes, kitties no.
Tip#3 Use a shower hose instead of the dunk in tub method. Get the water as hot as you can without burning. Think warm spa. Then bring out kitty (disasemble the carrier if need be), lock the door to the bathroom, place kitty in tub and use hot water to rinse the coat.
The hot water seemed to be the trick for my kitty spa baths. Almost all of them became sleepy after the initial 30 seconds and then became at one with the tub.
Tip #4 use LOTS of towels to dry them off. If you can get the towels warm ahead of time, so much the better. Then be sure kitty stays warm whilst they finish drying. You don't want any drafts for them as they get their fur refluffed.
I'm feeling a bit like Pat - if I didn't know they were bath shots I 'd think I'd been viewing torture scenes! I'm sure the cats did feel it was torture!
I have to say though that I did laugh out loud when I saw the shot of the cat clinging for dear life to the faucet by his front paws with someone holding the rear and him stretched out right over top of the water bath!
P.S. your method of bathing sounds much more humane, Debbie!
In all the years I've enjoyed my cats, I'm glad I've only had to bath one! They can sure get a wee bit annoyed, can't they! I like picture #7... he looks like he's planning payback!
HA! I guess these kitties didn't grow up having regular baths. Gracie sits quite still while she gets a bath. She's had them since she was a kitten. Walker rarely gets a bath because his fur mats when it gets wet. On the occassion he does have one......he holds onto the sink for dear life. I don't know if he thinks he's going down the drain with the soap or not! Then we come to Max. Max loves the water!! He will sit in the sink and wait for the water to be turned on so he can sit in it and play in it. What a mess that makes!! He also likes to sit in the shower while the water is running and meow his little head off.....akin to singing in the shower, I suppose.
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
Sounds like you've got some real 'waterbabies' there Aleta! Our Siamese cat was like that ~ like a duck to water. I'd never seen anything like him.
I have to say the hot water really did the trick for the others. It didn't make it all 'totally' better, but at least it was tolerable. LOL, not that I was responsible for the owner's wardrobe when they got home.
