Oooops, I didn't know you had to have individual insurance, I am sure the public part is covered by the show, when you are there but personnal insurance heck!!!
thanks for your reply i am to interested in feednack i have been informed by other artists that this is required for shows fairs and sometimes you get asked the national market federation give you a card to take with you you also need product insurance feedback please as never done a show and have no idea as another artist pointed out to me if something happens to someone from a bear you made then you need product insurance it makes sense but wanted to know from other artist do they have this i was told most do so thought i would post it and see
Hi Melissa
You should have public liability insurance if you exhibit at shows for your own protection, most shows I attend ask to see your Insurance. Most shows get there own insurance cover, if anything happens i.e someone trips over a box at your table or gets their foot stuck in your table cover and hurts themselves, this is down to you to have cover, as these days people will claim at the drop of a hat.
I believe if you go with the Market Traders Association they can do good deals on taking Credit Cards, another good company to use for Public Liability is G Imber, London, I use my bank as I have the shop as well, but most Insurance Companies will do some sort of cover that is suitable to your needs.
To be on the safe side and to cover yourself check with the organiser of the show first to see if they have cover and it will cover you too.
Hope this is a little help, and very good luck with your show.
Hugs
Jacqui
Not to frighten anyone but weights and measures also attend some shows that have been heavily advertised, make certain all items are clearly priced and especially collectors bears state on the label that they are not suitable for young children. I have been at shows where they have attended and asked people to remove bears and clearly mark them up, its not a common occurance but best to be on the safe side.
cheers jacqui i have been on internet all morning what a headache they say where do you sell from i say ebay website fairs shows then they say do you sell worldwide i say yes they say sorry cant help you as international laws are differant than uk i will look at the other one you mentioned as well thought i would post this after last conversation with you cheers jacquixxxx
i better get cracking still loads of bears to make as well and running out of time.. i ahve put tags on all bears to state unsuitable for children so thats 1 bit done
