Does any one know what they call the item the track and field participants wear over their tops with a number on it?

Hi Lynn,

Is it called a bib?

I remember when we played netball and running in relays and I am sure that is what
we called them.

Yes Carolyn, we used to call them a "bib", but I don't know if it is one of those crazy "down under" things that the American ladies may not know what we are talking about!!!!!   I shall be interested to hear if it is the same in America.  I have an American Brother-in-Law, and he thinks some things we name things here in Australia are completely wacky!!!!

Yup, bib.  My kid ran cross country this year.  They called it a bib there, too, and also on his ski team.

Lynn , you may remember them being called  a  "pinny" .   That's what we always called them here.

Thanks all.... for the life of me I could not think of what it ws called.  Many years ago when I was young and in track and field.....     !
