We have power!  After over 48 hours with no power it’s finally back on.  I could care less about TV, or AC the only thing I worried about where our animals, mainly our fish.  Thankfully we had a small car jump-starter that powered the saltwater tank and had batter back-up pumps in the other fresh water tanks.  No losses as of today so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Here are a few pictures of the debris.  It doesn’t look too bad in the pictures but this is going to take days to clean up & these pictures where taken after some cleaning.

At this point I’ll be spending a lot of time cleaning up.  Oh and I have to replace all the food in the house bear_sad the only food we have left is bird food LOL.

Did anyone else have Hurricane IKE damage?  Oh and a note to self I need not to try & sewn in the dark LOL I was  working on a bear bye the window & it was no problem but as the sun started to set I should have stopped bear_original  Now the closing seams look really bad & have to be redone LOL.

Up here in Elkhart, IN, right by South Bend/Notre Dame, last weekend from Friday evening to Monday afternoon, we've probably had close to 11 or 12 inches of rain...the most ever recorded for a consistant rain!  Thankfully, we've got sandy soil around our property, but the folks that live by the river, lots of rich ones that is, will be having problems.  Up north other in Michigan, not too far from where we live, lots of flooding up there!  I heard this morning in Edwardsburg, MI that 2 lakes have come together to form 1.

Believe it or not, Ike roared through central Ohio on Sunday.  We didn't have so much rain, but the hurricane force winds did a lot of damage.  There are people who will be without power for several more days.

Yes I was surprised by the amount of damage the hurricane did in OHIO! bear_shocked The big local electric company that serves the greater Cncinnati area and beyond said that 90% of its 800,000+ customers had power outages at least at somepoint<and like Millie said many people are still wuthout power. I can only imagine how bad it was in TX. Glad you are OK

Same here, I know friends that are in Indiana right next to Ohio and Ike parked for over 5 hours over them with gusts over 75mph.  Thankfully all critters and people survived, though their beautiful trees did not  bear_cry
