I saw one trying to open a clam and it worked on it for several minutes. bear_tongue
Very interesting and they are so very smart. After he opened it and finished eating he washed his face for the longest time!!
I wish I could have got my own kid to wash that good when she was young!!!!!!!! bear_grin

Oh yeah, Denise, I remember that video - so adorable! There was another video on YouTube of a news program that explained the "holding hands" behavior. It's actually a survival instinct so that they don't get separated. The same news program said that one of the otters was a survivor of the Exxon Valdez oil spill back in 1989(?). Whatever the situation, the holding hands is still waaaaay cute!
