I love it. Brings back memories. Drive-in movies, car hops, all the most up-to-date appliances and styles. Really fun.

AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!  I just saw my whole life flash before my very eyes!!  I was born in 1941, so even those old photos from the late '40s are familiar to me.  What a step back in time . . . thanks for the reminder, Roxanne.  However, I never knew anyone who wore a dress to, or drank milk at a picnic.  Also, we can totally forget about the "Guidlines for a Good Wife" . . . puh-leeeeze!!!  Great memories.

bear_wub  Being 67 I can relate to a lot of the stuff there, they were great times, we might laugh at it now since everything is so updated, but I remember mcdonalds 15 cent HB, my first car was a 55 Mercury, and woolworths was all over, I had my first job at WT Grant stores.  The old cars, Its a wonderful life, just like the movie, and speaking of movies, I loved the drive ins and stewarts root beer stands where they delivered to your car.  Kids today will never know how great we had it.
thanx for the memories.

I remember most of it - boy does that bring back memories!  It wasn't such a bad time, either.  I had two older sisters and a brother so American bandstand was a staple in our house and I had a coonskin cap!  Thanks Roxanne.

I was born in 1940 so I remember all of this.....what fun!  15 cent McDonalds and A&W root beer floats and ladies don't forget all the times we starched our many petticoats so that our skirts would be full.  As I remember we always wore 3 or 4 at a time.

IT's strange, even though I'm not really of that era I have a very keen memory of what was around when I was just four years old (Warning-I remember adult conversations that a four year old was not supposed to hear, it happens). I remember the wringer washing machine, milk delivered with a bulb at the top that contained the cream, Farmer John silent era cartoons, and the decorating colors  I can still clearly see the house I lived in with all the furniture, when I was four and remember both my grandmother's houses. Wish my current memory was as sharp  bear_tongue

What fun. I have some of the cameras. Love collecting stuff like that. (And opera glasses, seriously love them). I do however have my own theory on the housewives of the day. How many of you remember the cleaning products? Ok was born in 1966 but still. A whiff of some of the stuff they used in the '40's and upwards was enough to make you high for a week. No wonder they all smiled all the time.

Hey, I had a Davey Crocket hat just like that one!  My Pop bought it for me when he went on a cruise overseas in the 60's and I had forgotten all about it until I read your post ... and a hand-me-down box brownie camera that used to be my other grandfather's!   A lot of the other stuff was before my time (sorry girls  ) Thanks for the memories ....

That was fun! I remember when we traveled on an airplane my mom wore a dress and in stiletto heals. My dad in a suit and tie lugging suitcases (no wheels)! My goodness how things have changed... I remember Fizzies as being one of my favorite candies along with Sugar Daddy's. Gosh I feel old....
