Hi everyone-
   Does anyone know where I can find a variety of colors for pearl cotton thread in size 8.  Everything I found at Michael's in Pearl was size 5 which is a little too thick for the size bear I'm working on.  Would I have better luck if I looked in a fabric store?  I found embroidery threads, but they didn't state that they were Pearl cotton and they were a bit too fine.

To help you it would be easier if we knew in what country you live!!!!

DMC makes some nice perle cottons. Just go to their website and use the shop locator to know if there is a retailer near your place.

Also think about ebay...
In ebay France we have a huge choice in embroidery, perle and twisted cottons. It might be the same in your ebay.

Thanks so much.  I'm in Rhode Island, sorry for some reason I thought it would show on my post, but maybe I didn't put it in there  .  There is a Joanne's within a reasonable driving distance, next time I'm in that area I will stop.  I will see if we have any embroidery shops, they might have something interesting!

Since you're in the US, Edinburgh Imports also has a nice selection of perle cotton, and maybe Intercal as well? (I just hate driving places if people will ship things to me at a reasonable rate.  )

Don't waste your time driving to Joann's.  Call first.  They do carry size 8 but not a good selection, at least not here in Phoenix.  Edinburgh is discontinuing a lot of their embroidery floss colors.  I was really disappointed with their selection the last time I ordered.  You'd be best to order on-line or seek out a specialty shop in your area.  I'm lucky, there is a shop about 45 minutes from my house.  I go a few times a year and stock up.

Yeah, I looked at the colors Edinburgh has in #8.... just some rather funky ones left.
Our JoAnn's has a great selection of embroidery floss but every store is different. I've ordered things from them online before and been very happy so that might be an option too. If you can find an embroidery shop near you that's your best bet... the nose floss options are endless there! :dance:

I have a fairly wide variety of #8 that I sell.  I won't be home to help you until the end of the month.  I'm heading for Clarion then taking a side trip on the way home to visit family.  If you are still looking when I get home I can send you some.
Johnna (Intercal) was just telling me yesterday that Anchor is discontinuing the black and many of the browns that we use so you might want to stock up when you find them.

Donna.... REALLY!   Guess I'd better stock up too! No wonder Edinburgh doesn't have many bear colors!
