Hi Everyone,
The Teddy Bear Artist Event last weekend was a delightful show and I enjoyed myself tremendously.
But one day goes by so quickly and all you have left are the memories. But do you ?
I wonder if there is anybody out there who thought I would go home empty handed ?
Those of you who know me a bit better surely know the answer to that question : NO WAY !!
So I am very happy to present two teddies that came home with me to Belgium.
This is one of Pauline Wood's Valewood Bears, called "Treacle" (approx 12" tall, made from the softest alpaca mohair, with a beautiful handknitted scarf and hat)
Pauline, it was lovely chatting with you at the show and I will make sure "Treacle" is very happy here in my home.
The second bear is one of Pam Howells' teddies (approx. 16" tall, made from golden wavy mohair and with a diamond studded collar). Unfortunately he hasn't got a name yet, because Pam has run out of names in the 35 years (!) she has been making bears. So for the time being he is still "a bear with no name"
They look quite happy together :
You may have read in the title of this post : "part 1" ??? Yes, I'm afraid these were NOT the only two bears who came home with me. More will follow ...
Hugs,
Peter & the bears
 Gorgeous bears!
Pam's bear is so regal looking, what about Bertram or Orsino - two dukes from Shakespeare, and I suppose Orsino comes from the word "bear"?
I can't wait to see the others!
Becky
ah, they are lovely!
Hi Peter!
I also happened to meet Pauline as well as her nice husband and lovely parents in Summer 2007.
Isn't Pauline a lovely lady? I also have one of her bears.
These two new additions to your hug are gorgeous!
I guess it might become hard to find names after 35 years of teddy bear making...
What about Horatio for this marvellous golden bear?
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
You are such a tease Peter, making us wait a whole week and then braking it into parts BUT you couldn't start off in a better way than to show off one of Paulines bears and alpaca
I am lucky enough to own two of Paulines bears and my oldest daughter has one and another one coming for her birthday - every hug should have one. And yes she is such a lovely lady, I enjoy meeting up with her and her mum at Pudsey Fair every year.
The big fella is gorgeous too - great size to cuddle and I bet his mohair is lovely to the touch You could name him after William Shakesapeare himself!
Both very lovely chaps. How about Mercutio, thinking of Shakesperean names, or Tibalt, or, errr, well Hamlet or Romeo would be too OTT and I've now run out of ideas
Whoa - Peter, two stunning bears . . . lucky you! Will look forward to seeing your other adoptions!
Peter, it's such fun to have you share the new members of your family. I truly enjoy seeing which little (or big) ones have tugged at your heartstrings. These two are beautiful. Can't wait to see Part 2!
Hi Peter
Two real beauties! I also own one of Pam's bears. Classic! I love Pauline's bears, but haven't got one...yet.
Regards
Sue
Of course no one would expect you to travel all the way to the show and not bring home some friends. What fun would that be? I think they are both beautiful bears. Treacle looks very French to me, must be the hat. The other handsome fellow you brought home looks very happy to have her in his company.

What gorgeous bears to join your hug Peter you lucky thing!! Hope the bear with no name gets one soon Sadly our paths didn't cross on the day, I'm glad you enjoyed the show though, looking forward to more instalment (s!)
Hi Peter,
They are wonderful bears!! I wonder what you are going to call the bear with no name, you will have a headache trying to think of one! It takes me ages to find the right name for a bear!
So pleased you had a wonderful time at Stratford and it was lovely to meet up with you again.
Hugs
Marilyn (Just got back from trying out BUSBY!!!)
What a treat to see these bears! They are both just gorgeous!! I can't wait to see who else came home with you.

How lucky you are to have these two gorgeous bears Peter!
I agree with Ali...I think William - after the bard himself suits the 'bear with no name'!
What fab bears!! Looking forward to Part 2
I'm jealous, those are both as adorable as can be!!!
You have chosen two lovely bears Peter
I have been patiently waiting to see what you had bought at Stratford
I will look forward to seeing part two of your collection...is there a part three too
Laurie
Well - I couldn't imagine you leaving any bear show, Peter, without a few beautiful additions to your bear family........and these two are absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!! I sort of wonder at what people think when they see you on the way back from a show, with great armfuls of bears.............heck - they are probably JEALOUS!
big huggies
Maria

Laurie
Yes Laurie, part two will follow next week and then ... part three (all I can tell you know is that sizes will increase
).
Maria, when the show was over it was raining (in England ???); luckily Dawn James had one of those huge Ikea bags with her, so I could put the bears in the bag and cover them with other plastic bags. But I would have loved to carry them in my arms (if I had six arms  ).
Hugs to you all.
Peter & the bears
Six arms !!!!!!!!! How many did you buy Peter!
