Hi Bear (rabbit) lovers! Thanks for your words of encouragement!
What I am trying to do is bring my dry sense of humour across in my Critters - not everyone gets it. BUT I think after a while all critters can start to look the same and I want to stand out as an individual! I promise some more like this one. I might add another now!

Hi Bear & Rabbit lovers too,
This is my first critter for sale so please be kind to me. Prissy rabbit is 9cm/4" sitting including her ears. I have used all my techniques that are possible on a miniature. I will be adding her to eBay very soon. I hope you like her!

I have been reading and now I will add my thoughts - please don't send any hate mail!
Anyway I don't agree with Novice or Masters categories because I believe (and have seen for myself) that judges often go easy on Novices and and Way Too hard on Professional entries.
Should you not be judged on your ideas and what you have spent weeks and months creating - and be encouraged to improve the designs and quality of workmanship. Maybe after you have won the award twice then you can no longer enter a bear - try an animal (and remember this is just a thought ). And there are plenty of competitions world wide to enter!!!
Also I have seen beautiful bears loose to a rabbit or dog. How can you judge animals and bears - like a show judge choosinging between a fruit cake and a pumpkin. Yes you need categories for animals separate and at least three sizes - under 4 inch, up to 8 or 10 inch, and then over 10 inch - maybe even 4 size categories because the larger the bear/animal the more techniques can be applied. But then again ask a artist who makes large bears to make a 1 inch bear and see what amazing skill and patience it takes.
Finally I applaud  judges and their hard and often thankless job.
Hugs

Thanks you Carol, Claudia, and Lesley for your lovely comments. I think Sadie will cherish her panda when she gets older - not everyone has a bear artist for a relative...LOL

He is gorgeous, Paula! Did you get sore wrists stuffing and jointing him! I like small bears because of my poor weak hands and wrists! Good on you attempting such a BIG task!

I was approached by a lady I know to make a miniature copy of her daughter's French Bull dog. So from three photos and some guess work I created this 6 inch version of "Vegas". She just loved him
and I was pretty happy with my first attempt at designing a dog!

This is Saay-deey! I made her for my grand daughter, Sadie using a pattern designed by Esther Pepper of Aerlinn Bears. I picked this pattern because it was the nicest Panda design I have seen.
Hi Karen
In regards to dying the rayon I have used everything from Food Colouring, and coffee to hair dyes. This fabric comes in so many shades of great colours so basicly the only colours I dye are the shades of brown and beige. Just make sure you dry this fabric in the clothes dryer to keep the pile looking nice! Also I like the Belgium Synthetc from Sassy Bears. Makes great 3 to 5 inch critters. It has a good non stretch woven backing and looks natural! Worth a look.

Hi all Miniature Bear Makers
I have found the best fabric for making between 1inch up to say 4 inch critters is the vintage long pile fabric. It is reasonably priced through eBay! Look for "terriantigues" and she will even send free samples anywhere in the world. It is easy to work worth and so easy to turn. There is a huge of colours available. See my Bear Below for 3 inch example!
BIG Bear Hugs and Merry Christmas to all the wondeful people in the Bear World!!!!
