Jaina ..Does the kit come with a picture? If so, could you scan and post it?
Is the gusset all in one piece right now or in two pieces, as your diagram shows?
I've wanted to do something similar, so I'm most intrigued.
I'm enjoying these critter pics you're all sharing.
Here's mine. We've named him Rocky. Not very original, but he seems to like it.
He's so cute, we don't even chase him away.
Millie ..They are all so very lucky ..to have found you. You have a kind soul.
Jaina ..I'm totally clueless  but very curious.
It's a great question, which I've wondered myself.
I'm sure a few TTer's will come to your aid.
In the next year I'm hoping to GET ORGANIZED
And work harder on being a flibbertigibbet (my true goal in life)!
Happy New Year, my fellow teddy lovers!!!
Denise, lovely little lizard. I'm sure I'd get used to having a family member of Lizzy Lizard around, I think, in time. Maybe.
Nina, that's a possum, right? I have one, or two, living under my house. We're not too thrilled they've taken up housekeeping there. They are a bit stinky. Okay, more than a bit.
Quiet, though.
Kim, thanks for the tips! I like your idea of covering/wrapping the wire with batting. I was concerned about just stuffing around the wire. The batting will add extra protection and a bit more softness.
Great idea!
Thanks, Melisa and Joanne.
That's what I was planning to do, then thought maybe there was some reason not to. I'll be sure to loop the ends.
Thanks again for your help!
Hi all!
I have a quick question: How long do you make your armatures?
I'm about to tuck my first homemade wire armature into an arm, but don't quite know how long to make it. Should it extend all the way into the paw pad, or stop just short of? If there is no set "rule", what length do you all prefer?
Thanks so much!!!
Joan, I'm so glad you made it home safely. The roads were such a mess heading to the coast, impassable at times. Glad they're finally better.
Let's hope we're done with snow for a while. For a winter!
I second and third the motion...Hurray for warmer temps, melting snow, and green-green grass!!!
Our rivers are a wee bit too high, here as well. Hopefully it won't rain buckets. No Pineapple Expresses, please.
My roof is leaking at my store. More and more. It's been shoveled, twice during the snows. But all that water doesn't know where to go, except down and into my store. I have buckets everywhere.
Aleta ..Oh, that feeling of freedom. I know of what you speak!
Just to be able to get out of the house, is exhilarating!
Aleta ..I finally managed to get out of my driveway today. It's still a tricky mess. Ditto on everything you said!!!
The roads are awful, and dangerous. Most roads haven't been plowed here either. And now comes the rain! And flooding.
This was the first time down to my store since the snows hit. I was afraid to look.
The roof is leaking, but not too badly. Yet. It has a flat roof!
We have friends that live in Happy Valley. They were still stuck home as of Christmas.
I still love snow, but only if ..it snowed no more than an inch, on a Saturday morning and was all washed away by Sunday night. That'd be ideal!
Wishful thinking!
Stay safe & warm!!!
Joan, this is a small world!
We had about 4 more inches of snow this morning, on top of the 2 feet already on the ground. We live in the surrounding foothills. More snow may fall overnight., really hope not. Good news is we are slowly warming, and the snow should slowly start melting.
Yes, there's power outages throughout the area. Trees laden with snow are toppling onto power lines. We've been lucky, no outages, yet.
Have a safe trip. Driving has been treacherous, from Portland to Seattle, as I'm sure you know. I hate driving in this stuff.
Hope you had a good Christmas!
Hope everyone, everywhere, had a good Christmas!!!
Great pictures, Krista!
This was a wide spread storm. Funny though, when one is stranded at home the world shrinks to fit.
Let's hope a warming trend is on its way. But not too warm. We don't need a Pineapple Express right now!!!
Hugs to everyone!!!
Karen, Aleta ..You both put a smile on my face and a laugh in my heart. Thank you!!! It feels good to laugh!
We here in the Pacific Northwest don't normally get much snow, if any. And yes, we are not at all equipped.
It has been lovely, but enough is enough!
I actually live halfway between the two of you, in Castle Rock.
So here's to a Very Merry Christmas, at perhaps New Years!!!
Keep smiling..
We'll see the sun one of these days!
May you all have a Wonderful Christmas
and may the New Year bring all good things!
We've been snowed in for well over a week now. Hubby and I haven't been able to go anywhere. The snow is piled high. Our town has one snow plow and we have yet to see it.
But we're staying warm and still have lots of food. I had just started Christmas shopping when the snows hit early last week. Hubby hadn't started at all. So we've decided to have Christmas twice: On the 25th to celebrate the day and another when we can finally get out there to shop. Family is all in agreement, but we really have no choice.
We're together and very happy to have each other. After all, that's what Christmas is really all about.
Included a picture I took of our front yard.
Merry Christmas, Teddy Lovers!
Don't know if this will help at all, but I have one little additional thought ..Besides making sure the joint is tight, make sure the body is stuffed well, especially in the neck and shoulders region.
When I started making bears, about 10 months ago (I'm still a rooky), I found I wasn't stuffing firmly enough, especially the body at the neck and shoulders. Well, also the head itself. Anyway, it made the head/neck joint seem loose, which it wasn't.
Correct stuffing can make a big difference. I learned that here on TT.
Thanks for a good laugh ..I love laughing!!!
Hi Andrea
Belinda is as cute as can be. Your mom will love her!!!
I do!!!
Sandra, I hope they itch themselves silly!
I believe in Karma. They will gets theirs!!!
So sorry this happened to you. Hope it doesn't spoil your Christmas.
Big hug.
Finley is a lucky soul, to have survived such an ordeal.
So glad he made it out of that drain!!!
Thank you, ladies. I truly appreciate your kind comments.
I've been working hard to improve on my bearmaking. I've learned so much, especially from TT'ers (you!)!
And I have so much more to learn. But I love learning, especially when it's about how to build a better teddy!
Birgitta, I know what you mean. Flying fur sticks to everything! And it makes me sneeze like crazy. But I'm hooked on it.
Brenda, your grandson is adorable! And I loved your tale of woe. Too funny!
I'm off to start digging Christmas out: from closets, under beds, and out in the well house..where our tree lives for 11 1/2 months.
It's starting to look a lot like Christmas!!!
Hi all!
Meet Scooter! New pattern of mine. He's made from a Tissavel faux fur coat. He's about 14 inches tall, standing, and fully cotter-pin jointed. Though fur was flying ..he was fun to make.
Hope you like him. I'm really trying!!!
Hi Jenny
Yukiko is preciously adorable. What a face!
I just love him!!!
